game won't start, desktop icon is a blank page.
i tryed everything, every solution that is on the forums, but nothing seems to work.
hope someone can help, 82,- is a lot for something that doesn't even start up. :(

If your desktop icon is blank, that means that the shortcut can't find the path to where the icon file is stored. This usually means that the game is either not installed correctly, or the shortcut is referring to the wrong location.
i installed it through steam (ofcourse) but even when i pres the play button in steam itself the game won't start, it does absolutly nothing. no window no error and no game.
no when i go to the installation folder there is a PA.EXE, when i double klick that. it gives me the error: ("the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). click OK to close the application") -_- now what
What are your system specifications?
Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

i found out that the game is suppose to be around 5GB right?
but when i ask it to install its around 500MB (WTH!!!) WHY
No, the game needs only 582 mb of local content.

I'll take a look at what the possible issue might be. In the mean time, you could make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX 9c installed.

i tryed that before, and installed those. checked all my drivers to, everything is up to date and installed. bevore i posted this discussion i searched the forums for HOURS!!.
The user named battletech on the ubernet forums seems to have had the same issue as you're having right now. He used this link[www.microsoft.com] and rebooted his computer and it seemed to have fixed the issue.
still not helping, have the same problem afthere reboot
i think the next step should be to compleatly reinstall my computer.
realy want to play that game!!!

That's the log file location. Perhaps you could upload them and share them here and in your post on the ubernet forums.
they all say the same, there are 4 of them.

This post[forums.uberent.com] pretty much has the same problem as you have. It seems to be a DirectX dependency problem. But I'm not sure which DirectX package would actually work for you.

You could try opening up PA in compatibility mode to see if that works, but otherwise I don't really know how to help you any further.

Less than a minute via google to confirm Just Fred's prognosis.
Reinstall directX.

I've already posted that link in an earlier post. Either he did not bother to actually reinstall DirectX, or this method isn't working for him unfortunately.

Reinstalling the operating system is a kind of drastic move as you lose all of your other stuff, and it's still risk because there's no guarantee you're not going to run into the same problem again.

So I would recommend you wait with doing anything drastic and just wait for some replies on the ubernet forums.
i had to reinstall anyway so that was no prob. and the reinstallation fixed it for me btw :P
