just did reinstall of windows 7 now i cant play PA what would cause this all drivers updated too

make sure .net fromeworks are installed, directX, vid card drivers. Im not sure exactly what driver libraries PA uses but these are the common culprits

Run DxDiag tool (Start > Run > type "dxdiag" without quotes), press "Save All Information" button and then copy contents of your DxDiag.txt

Also please post information what exactly error you get. You need to run PA directly without Steam to get proper error message:
Go in Library -> Right click on game -> Properties -> Local FIles -> Browse local files

It's also seems that you already played PA, you trying to run it on new hardware? Or it's stop working after new build?
