im an avid RTS fan, most significantly of all, it has no economic challange, just oops infinite resources ♥♥♥♥ planning etc. and it will just turn into your average steam roller, only pro games will actually consider strategy.

Fair enough but keep in mind they still have to do a balance pass so things could change in regards to how resources are managed

Pretty much the reasons why TA and SupCom died.

PA will probably die sooner since there's only one faction.

If SupCom had little diversity, PA will have zero diversity, it'll be like playing UEF vs UEF steamrolling all the time.

imo supcom died because of low exposure. All this crying about price has put PA on the map at least.

IMO it died because the bad press it received:

Please don't put SupCom and SupCom 2 in the same bracket. SupCom was a damn good attempt to update TA (especially so with the Forged Alliance changes), and SupCom 2 was a disgrace. SupCom 2 removed all the depth and was basically a silly console game.

There is a community-run project called Forged Alliance Forever (www.faforever.com) that supports SCFA better than GPGNet ever did, it is a free client and has a vast number of bugfixes and balance changes from the last official patch version. Anybody interested in this style of game should check it out, it's phenomenal what has been achieved with it.

if they manage to balance anything at all with the economic system as it is now it would be a miracle cuz honestly right now its a broken one. i miss the old days when you had worker units travelling to get resources that were far and wide (ik this game will have i think more rare metal deposites to encourage this) but its all stationary. and if the game wants to have any entertainment factor then yeah MOAR FACTIONS >:D ... but if they fail to add that then only players whos playstyle is fitted with the one faction will find anythign worthwhile in more than 5 hours of gameplay.

This will just be a zerg fest. Low poly zergfest.

Well since you don't care to expand at all OP I'll just say that no, it isn't and cite the 400 or so threads as to why that are floating around. The ones Steam CMs haven't just deleted 'cause commish on $90.

Looks ♥♥♥♥, plays ♥♥♥♥, nothing new, greedy dev, crap marketing. Violates the spirit of kickstarter even though they wormed their way around the ToS and Steam should have more respect for the development process as well as the user base than to allow this to even exist on the platform. I wouldn't bother coming here but this pile has been central on the front page of the marketplace since they launched on Steam.

I don't think the price is that good for this or any game. PA may well be successful but I think it will more likely be slightly successful at first then peter off fast.

I was impressed by 2 things the roundness, interesting for sure but more of a gimmick as an actual play changer. And the other is the planet to planet warfare till I realized that planet to planet is just another layer of navel warfare where islands fight other islands.

Programing wise its totally new and the feel is as well but the effect is the same as when navel units were brought into C&C, not to take away from it as this is a new way of doing things that will likely encourage some other games to be set amid a solar system.

As ice as it is I just don't think its worth the price tag and even the $40 is a bit more then I want to pay though if it were not for the $90 offer I would likely spend it with no concern.
