Who's actually buying this for $90?
It reminds me of Defiance when it was selling for $100 with all the DLC. Now that game is hardly played and it came out in April, so it's not like it's an old game. It doesn't even show up in the top 100 most sold games. What a scam.

I bought it when it was on kick starter. Haven't regretted it yet

I like how you say "yet".

You sir, have clearly done your homework on Uber's previous games, and are aware that regret is only a matter of time.

Oh, and the top game list is revenue based, and DLC isn't counted towards that total, as far as we know.

All these people using the word "Scam" The word doesn't mean what they think it means. Clearly they think it means "Priced higher then what I am willing to pay" -.-

Agreed. Uber is many things but they are not scam artists.

How about the word "con"? Would you be OK with that?

A confidence trick (synonyms include confidence scheme and scam) is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence. A confidence artist (or con artist) is an individual, operating alone or in concert with others, who exploits characteristics of the human psyche such as dishonesty, honesty, vanity, compassion, credulity, irresponsibility, naïveté, or greed.

That's in the reasonable ballpark. I'm not saying it applies...but I could see how someone could get to "con."

It certainly would have been a con if the pre-orders were defrauded of the money they paid in April for a version that was 1/3 the price when it actually hit availability.

Nope, isn't a con either, notice how Con is a synonym of Scam. You are told exactly what you are getting, there is no evidence of fraud. If the game never releases and they say forget it, then you would have a case. But again, they are telling you exactly what you are getting for that $90 price, and there is no reason to believe that the game will not release.

So you need to come up with some evidence of where they are defrauding people.

Again, just because you feel the price is higher then what you think it should be does not equal to being a scam/con.

Con and scam are the same thing -.-

I bought it. I understand why some/most people wouldn't buy it at this price, especially considering that it's a work in progress. I just happen to love the genre, and I know I'll be sinking at least 100 hours into this thing, and getting to see it get better every week is thrilling.
If you're on the fence then there's no harm in waiting, the game is only going to get better, and cheaper, over time.
It's an unconventional pricing model, but my inner economist says it shows a lot of promise.

Sigh, just because the shoe hasn't dropped doesn't mean it isn't a con or a scam. I remember having these discussions with coworkers in the early 90s when a rash of pyramid schemes hit Pheonix. They would only accept the possibility after the AG got involved and shut the con artists down. Evidence isn't required to consider the possibilty of a scam. If you wait for evidence, it's probably too late.

I doubt they are intentionaly defrauding. I do lean towards their intentions are good. I consider their honesty questionable. I believe they would promise players the moon, which they recently gave them in a patch, for another $90. They made a big deal out of that moon, but it was just a pretty moon orbiting the planet, it didn't add to gameplay at all.

Since interplantery warfare is still to come, how can it possibly add to the gameplay at this point in time?
