xbox 360 controller mapping is useless

Ive been playing this game problem free for years, but since whatever this latest update was, I cant map my controller properly. It lumps my triggers together as Z axis, my joystick wont map properly. I cant play anymore unless this gets fixed because the default setup literally doesnt work.
