Getting to bronze age takes too long!
I can't seem to get to the bronze age other than by brute force (land expansion)....Multiplayer only seems to work if your friends have the game...and who can convince them to waste $20?...I gathered all the chests.. I need a ton more cards & cant get them from multiplayer rewards....since I cant get in a multiplayer game... this game sucks.

I had that exact problem, got to a stage where I had to start again. Which I did and to be honest the 2nd time around I am even more bored by the game mechanics of digging, flattening and collecting belief.

And again, the game is still in early beta... All those things will of course change during the development of the game :)

It takes awhile to get to bronze age and I wish those xx amy xx quests were repeatable, but at the same time the pacing is supposed to be slow. Rome was not built in a day (unless you name a settlement rome then mabye) and advancing to certain ages takes decades to eons in real life so just be happy that you can't rush through everything.

click...click...click...carpaltunnel... click... I got enought belif to flatten that rock yet? ....time to play with the game files....if this is 40% of the game.. there is no saving it

Not to defend the game, because I agree there are issues, especially with the card thing, practicly -requiring- multiplayer matches for simply arbitrary reasons, This age is all about expansion. Set up a vast empire and then the next age, the ones currently locked from us, watch that grow culturally.

I'm starting to really dislike the way the game genere, one ment to be single player, has so much forced multiplayer. The new SimCity is another example of this. While multiplayer is fun, there are literally hundreds of multiplayer dominated games. Why is it that the "artform" of game design always takes a back seat to "marketing stratagy" that often doesn't work for this genere?

Forced multiplayer: my linked post addresses that.

You are incorrect but that is due to poor communication by 22cans in-game.
To clarify, there is no forced multiplayer.

"Forced" may be read as "over encouraged" in a genere that does not need it at all.

Where exactly are you seeing the forced MP? You are making no sense in regards to what we have seen of the game so far.

Forced MP consists of the fact that you can't progress unless you multiplayer or "Trade Wins"

There are several threads on this forum of people looking to add friends for MP. I've added about 15 in the past couple of days and played with several of them.

Card rewards aren't functioning properly right now. We're playing on a fixed landscape with a set number of chests spawning in the exact same spots. Because of the limited space you WILL run out of resources. This is just a fact of the current content. The full game uses a random procedurally generated world, which should supply an unlimited number of resources, such that you will never actually run out.

Well, why didn't they put in a resource respawn rate of a day or something? Make it so we can progress without multiplayer?
