How to Access Developer Builds
Want to test the absolute latest developer build of GODUS before we release it to the public? Then you're in luck, as we're offering the community access to our most frequently updated builds of the game for you to test and try out. We feel that this will empower you, the community, to provide even more feedback by taking part in the ongoing development of GODUS more easily and more frequently. For details on how to access these developer builds, read below:

How to Opt In to Developer Builds
If you'd like to participate in our regularly released developer builds, just follow the easy instructions below.
  • Go to your Steam Library
  • Right click on GODUS and select "Properties"
  • Click on the "Betas" tab
  • Enter your beta access code, which is ‘22canstester'
  • Click "Check Code"
  • Click on the dropdown menu and make sure “releasetest” is selected
  • Hit "Close" and you're all set

The Community's Access Password
This password will allow you to access the most recent development builds of the game. Using the instructions above, this password will give you immediate access.

Password: 22canstester

Additional Information
The timing of how often these updates get released will vary depending on where we're at on the development of the game, but by and large we'll aim to release developer builds weeky which will allow us to push out specific changes and bug fixes more frequently rather than waiting for one large official update to come out weeks at a time. This will allow you to participate in the very latest builds of the game if you choose to do so. Don't fancy taking part in the wild and potentially unstable world of developer builds? That's totally fine too. We'll continue to release regular official updates weeks at a time, but for anyone interested in taking part in the cutting edge of the game's development in between these official updates we wanted to make sure we gave you the option to do so.

It is my hope, as well as the hope of everyone else at 22cans, that opening up access to these developer builds will give the community the ability to give immediate feedback on the most recent development changes, ranging from bugs to gameplay mechanics to everything in between.

While this is very encouraging news, the lack of developer response to our feedback makes this sort of flat. I'm hoping this is just the first step in a major shakeup of how you guys are handling things. This change will mean nothing without a serious effort to reciprocate communication.

I really like this idea, but I can't help feeling that the only way in which we will be "taking part in the on-going development of GODUS" will be identifying bugs. Everything we've heard from PM indicates that our actual ideas and suggestions are worthless to him.

Anyone else getting popup ads in Steam since signing up for this developer release access?

Anyway to know what bug fixes, gameplay changes, mechanics, etc are in the builds so we can give better feedback on particular fixes, etc?

Very good question, and one that I'll be sure to ask production once they get into the office tomorrow morning. I'll report back once I hear something.

This is great, fixed the crash and I can play again.

Do you want us to report on experiences and/or issues with the developer builds?
Muir Mar 28 @ 1:23pm
Yes, please, Atonnis. Send all bug reports and feedback to support@22cans.com. You can also post them on the steam forums, but by emailing them, it will ensure that the devs see it sooner.

I had to enter the beta access code, first, then got the option to select the "releasetest" choice in the dropdown list.
