Do I need to kill ALL hostiles for Boondock Saint or only the minimum?

I thought that you couldn't let any civilian die even from one of the hostiles. Is this true or not?

It's true. You need to plan your way on the levels so that no civilians get caught in gunfires. This is getting harder and harder as you progress through the game so you will need to kill hostiles fast & efficiently.

That is almost impossible then. How did you do the EZ Mart level.

Move next to the shop assistant to the west of your starting position and carefully take out the two hostiles to the north with the rocket launcher but don't apprahend them or they'll start shooting. Then go as south as possible and move to the southwest corner of the level. A policeman will be there with a pistol. If there's a civilian between the two of you then don't go in front of him. If the civilian's gone throw a grenade at the policeman. Move to his position and blow the grenadier up to the east of the policeman's position (with a grenade). Again 1-2 civilians can get in the way so you have to be patient and careful. Move back to the west border of the level and use grenades to kill the swat guy hiding behind a large shelf or whatever. Then walk along the shopkeeper's desk to the north and get rid of 2 grenadiers, 1 at a time. There's a SWAT lady in front of the shopkeeper's desk but she's quite hard to kill because of the civilians between you. After taking out the 2 grenadiers go to the northwest corner of the level. As far as I can remember there are two policemen there and a soldier next to the shop assistant. Kill the policemen and carefully blow the soldier up with a grenade. I haven't planned what next after this. At this point SWAT guys can spawn from behind a larger shelf. There are some hostiles in the northeast corner as well. You should be able to get the rest of the kills with a bit of practice. Only use the flamethrower if there are no civilians around the targets.
I can confrim that civilians on the floor who are crying for help DO COUNT as alive, however never overwrite your EZ Mart level save just to be safe.

Make sure you save at the beginning of every level and load it up each time you fail. Suiciding doesn't delete the statistics of civilian deaths.
