I've never seen Shark grasp the concept that the value of something must be determined by the individual acquiring said thing. I've seen people pay incredible prices (upwards of $500) for great seats at ball games and concerts. Not something I would do, but it doesn't make them "suckers". It just means they enjoy different things than I do. Shark doesn't seem to understand this simple fact.
And this is absolutely valid for you. I just looked throgh my Steam history to check... I paid $17.99 for Gone Home. I do not feel disappointed in the least. I'd feel the same if I'd spent 20 euros. My point - and, from your other posts I'm sure you'll agree - is that whether or not somethng is worth a given amount of money to you can't be determined by somebody else.
There is no way for anyone to make anything but a subjective decision about the "value" of any form of entertainment. Books, movies, theatre, music, food (the "eating out" kind, not the "survival" kind)... All of those have the value that the individual consumer gives them - no more, no less. I feel bad for anyone who gets something that they feel is worth less than what they paid, but much less so for those who do so with something easily researched.
Which is a good thing. The more honest opinions that people can see, the less likely they are to do something stupid like buy a game that's not for them. :)
