Can't get into Hard + FIXED.
I have a question. I'm trying to start Hard + but I'm having som difficulty accessing it. I currently have typed in every variation under the sun to do with possibly starting it, but it's not working.

I've typed into the console:
skill 3 map1
skill 3 map01
skill 3 map base1
skill 3 map base01
skill 3 1
skill 3 01
skill 3 e1m1
skill 3 mapbase01
skill 3 mapbase1

None of them actually load the first level, did steam deactivate this code for osme reason? If so I'd like to kno how to modify the game so it is available again, due to being all ready and needing to record some footage for a game analysis of Quake 2 I'm doing soon.

Nice guide though, but I've looked everywhere I could, and it seems this console entry is indeed removed or changed or something.

I've done it before, I did it for an entire youtube series on the difficulty a few years back on the original version.

EDIT: I found out what I was doing wrong. You put in /Skill 3. Press enter. Put in /Map base01. Press Enter. Hold F1 and the difficulty bit of the thing will say Hard +

Can start the game normally, then in the console type skill 3 then enter, then type map base1 then enter (first bring down the console with the ~ key)

I know, If one looks into the EDIT section, they'll see that I fixed it xD

But thanks guys ^_^ Even if the + doesn't work though...

The + is for sending console commands via the command line parameter, although it might need to be +seta, I'm not sure. - is for commands that are for the command line only.

You could also start at the beginning of other units as well, but you'll lack the appropiate firepower. Cool thing about Half Life 2 is that you can start any map and it will give you appropiate firepower for the map.

True, but I personally find that it's easier to jsut use the console commands, though tey're a bit finicky and a tiny bit more complicated xD

I just noticed in the readme.txt there are cfgs allowing you to start on any unit and have an appropiate loadout of weapons.
