Season 42 Anomaly Clues
I think we can share our clues here.

So far I know that it is close to a planet called Cmere. What do you know?

I've taken screenshots of 2 or 3 observatories. I tried to line up the constellations so it worked but the map is really hard to use for long distances. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Vekter000/screenshots/

What do you say if we try to find it together? I would very much like to do it with someone instead of on my own, it gets boring after a while.

I'm pretty close. It's very near a planet called Takune, which has coordinates 995853870. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=262035495
The map is tricky to use and it's hard to match the scale with what's seen in the sky here, plus I'm not sure what to make of the apparent edge of the galaxy--is it a toroidal deal here or what? Whatever the case, it makes it hard to line things up to match my screenshot.

One of the observatories showed the anomaly being on the same constellation as Wolf1. I'm trying all the nearby stars now.

I found a new observatory and named the planet OBSERV. I wasted a good amount of time trying to find the anomaly, appearantly its between USAGI and BEN11. When I was trying to aim down the observatory to simulate the view from the maps I didn't find any unvisited moons.

Does anybody know if the anomaly is named like the other stars like XX/123 or does it have a unique name?
Gordelphus May 30, 2014 @ 12:51am
Well, by now, 100% of the planets have been visited and named. Other discussions here on Steam mention people naming the anomaly planets in various seasons, so that would imply that it can be named, and has in fact already been found and named.

I visited OBSERV today also, as well as ELPIS, another observatory planet. I wonder how many observatory planets there are in total? Based on the frequency I find them at, I'd guess there are maybe a few dozen as a large estimate. Order of magnitude 10, anyway.

My biggest worry is that I'll visit the correct planet and totally miss the anomaly somehow. I'm not sure if that's possible, but it is a concern. I've visited and solved close to 500 planets at this point and it would suck if I'd already been to the anomaly and just didn't notice it.

Observatory planets i found in Season 42 include the obvious MAPMAP ones and MAPPY. I found another one that had been named but nobody had activated the star map. I forgot the name but I'll dig it out from my history later today. So far the maps have only been useful at telling me what planet are NOT the anomaly. I know it's near CUSTRD and QUICK. I don't think it's near USAGI because one map showed that far away. It's very confusing. The main theory I have now is that it's near WOLF1 because one map showed the anomaly on the same constellation. I've visited a bunch in that area but no dice so far.
I don't even know what the anomaly will look like or how I'll know if I've found it or not.

Got the image in my screenshots folder of the map I descibed above bu tI can't work out how to post it here.
Here's the link http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=265394906

Ha. So that's how. Anyhoo WOLF1 is the star at the T junction. I know it's hard to read but it's there. I've been to all the stars in the area and still can't find it.

I finally found the anomaly thanks to a lucky guess of my friend a few hours ago.

I kept stumbling around observatories beforehand, I'll share some of them, I hope they'll be of help.

I also found an artifact on THEIA if anyone's interested.

Farewell 42 pilots. Good luck out there. o7

Can you please tell me where the Anomaly is before I go crazy?

You can also pm me about it.

Here's the map from OBSERV with the anomaly by USAGI. USAGI is nowhere near WOLF1 so I'm lost.

Gordelphus May 31, 2014 @ 8:42am
Extremeyuji, if you're able to put the name or coordinates of the anomaly here, that would be fantastic. Put spoiler tags or some similar indication for people who don't want to know just yet.

And well done!

I've been to and solved (found the white orb thing) over 600 planets now, and no anomaly. I'm terrified that I've missed it somehow. My crummy mouse is over 10 years old so manipulating the ship's map is incredibly frustrating, making using the observatory maps not so useful, unfortunately. I'm just going to do it the hard way and keep visiting planets until I (hopefully) find the anomaly. Probably the least efficient strategy possible, but frankly it's fun to just explore anyway.

Another map here. but I can't get any map to align. I'd love to know the name of the anomaly system at this point.

I can type it here in spoiler tags if everyone wants.
