What's the point of dropping coordinates?
I see people writing down coordinates of relevant locations, like the planet 'MAP' being at 245830712, or 'STARK' at 504400640, etc* (These are in Season 38)

But is there an actual use for the coordinates? I found planet 'MAP' by slowly moving the map on the ship's cockpit over several planets to see if i'd find one of the planets related to the triangulation of the current season's anomaly.

I don't see any place to input coordinates, and dragging the map around doesn't seem to be of any particular help since the map is actually tridimensional, so if i see a planet to the right of any given coordinate, its own coordinate won't be sequential in relation to the other planet as it could very well not be 'to the right of' but 'behind', 'above' or any direction relative to the angle of observation.

they are x, y, z coordinates. it's much easier to pinpoint the planet in question than looking at each one of the hundreds of planets individually, but you're right, you cannot input them. you have to use them as a guide to point you in the right direction.
