Hi

I've been playing SC4 off and on since 2003. I also have played SC5 for about an hour and have sworn to never buy it or play it again!! Too buggy, You have to play it online, You DO NOT have the rights to the game, only permission to play it online!! Don't waste your time or money on SC 5!! SC 4 is WAY better than that especially if you are a control freak!!! I also own CXL Platinum and got it for 15 bucks here. Which it is still onsale till the 26th. If you have a newer computer than Platinum is the way to go. The older versions are buggy and laggy. The platinum version is much better and much more stable. It will aslo kinda spoil you if you have played SC4. A lot more realistic game play. But I still Play SC4, I love them both.

Bottom line it's a good deal at 15 bucks. I would not have bought it if I had to pay the usual 30 bucks for it.

Have fun either way!!

P.S.

Some here may give you other thoughts about the game, but most of them are playing the older version or don't have a more up to date computer.

P.S.S

Sorry SC4 has a very large community that improves and extends the life of the game at Simtropolis.com or SC4devotion.com. CXL also has a great community at XLnation.com they are great there and they have a lot of stuff to expand the game with.

All these comments are my Personal opinions and I'm sure someone will chime in with there's!

Yea EA has ????ed up again with SC5. They pulled the same thing with Tiger Woods Golf. Online play only! Then they want anything from 40-80 bucks for the cra?!!

For me it's SC4 Deluxe and CXL Platinum you will notice they are the same but way different.
I know that didn't make much sense too me either but you'll see if you play them both!!

The only good thing i got from buying sim city on it's release, was getting bf3 for free lol. It was and it is a waste of money imo.

I would recommend you to go to xlnation.net and check some mods/updates to the game there. There's really amazing stuff and you can also check cities that people build. Some look really amazing and i envy them all. :p

CitiesXL is a horible game with way to many bugs and a memory leak problem that stops you from really enjoing it. SC4 awesome game. SC5 with the newest update is accually starting to be a great game, now if they get rid of the online crap it will be the game i was hopeing it would be. Oh and as to platinum being less buggy thats just bull it's the exact same game as 2012 and 2011 i know cause i own them all. DO NOT BUY CITIESXL. if you can't deal with the always online of SC5, then deffinatly pick up SC4, but as i said before the newest update(update 7) SC5 is really fun.

Well. I do like sim city 4, but the newest one is a waste, that's why they had lots of trouble selling it and still do. Anyway, every single game isnt a game without bugs, I play CXL and I dont have any trouble with it, and believe me, i use like 20% of the actual in game buildings, etc., the rest is mods, etc. and i dont have crashes. It depends on what machine you run it. If you have 20M people living in a city, its normal to be slow, because its just a lot. I've tried filling the whole map with buildings completly and still no crash even though it was really slow. But it's just a game that doesnt get much support because on its first release, Monte Cristo the old devs went bankrupt and so it wasn't a good bet for Focus Home to spend time on it. So they just added games that are more like patches or "updates" to the original CXL 2009, which was even suposed to be online i think. So dont say its bad, because its not. I like it as much as sim city 4, but CXL is more graphically pretty imo. I would never feel regret for buying this game as i do with SC5.

Both may be let downs, but CIties XL Platinum is worth it and still better than SimCity 4.

Stick with Cities XL.
