Has the memory leak been fixed yet?
This is like their 4th re-release, any hope being able to jump in without tremendous lag past 30 minutes in?

fixed very long time ago...

what memory leak are you talking about...

the game does slow down after a while once you get to a larger city. but i've played for a few hours without issues

yes it will slow down as the city grows in size and complexity and you do all sorts of edits, but its not cause of memory leak it has to do with complexity of the datastructures you are creating as your city grows in complexity and size and how long it takes to process them...

There is a problem with both memory leaks and the game slowing down from complexity. For the memory leaks restarting the game every hour or two should mostly "solve" that (yes obviously thats not a real solution).

As for the complexity try out the cfg edits listed here: http://xlnation.net/content/lagging-problem-solution

Won't fix everything but it'll help a good deal. This has some additional tips: http://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesXL/comments/1blrm9/a_couple_of_tweaks_to_help_with_the_lag/

I think he is talking about when Cities XL 2009 was released the game slowed down even if your city was a town.

I notice this game slow down after a while, restarting it helps.

restarting takes forever, what I heard from people is that Focus did not make this game but bought complete rights to this games source code from another developer (they weren't big at all; forgot the name) and didn't improve much from that; left its single-core optimization, etc.

there is no need to go around restarting the game

i dont know what sized cities you'all are trying to create

but you can easily create average real world sized cities without any problems

just make sure you have windows 64 with 8gb of memory and good cpu/gpu

ssd also helps..

Yup throw more RAM at the game so it takes longer for you to feel the memory leak!! now there's a solution

The Doctor is in is obviously one of the 2 or 3 people left at Focus who just makes sure their title gets front page once in awhile. This game has had 0 Dev support since 2010 since all the programmers where fired. The memory leak still does exist and it has since the inital release.

nope

i dont work for focus

im just a little more intellent than a parrot that goes around repeating the same misinformation they've heard or read and not look for themselves

also with each release there are release notes showing all the fixes, changes, additions

so this they ahve done 0 since 2010 is just nonsense too...

and memory leak does not exist. just parroting the same misinformation does not make it so

but i will give any anyone who think it does exist the benefit of the doubt...

ok if it exists show me screenshot showing the memory leak.

surely its not invisible / faith based memory leak and if it exists once can see it and provide proof of it...

so take a nice screenshot of it.. and post a link here to it

use imgur.com if u like

but of course you will not. just like you will not run the game in cpu/gpu/memory profiler to find out what is going on

im waiting i think ive been waiting ayear for such a picture so far non

i did post lots of pictures of me running the game in cpu/gpu/memory profiler/analyser and the results

but all that is i guess fake and the nonexistent memory leak real.

so im waiting its now been many many many months and still no picturs just the same noise "do not buy this game caues of memory leak and developers have done nothing" bla bla bla which is all wrong... just look at patch notes...

I don't agree with not buying the game, cause as i've said several times, it's a fun game. But at the same time i refuse to pretend the game is fine, because it aint. Like a lot of games it has problems.
