I'm experiencing the same problem. The game was working great Sunday. Now? Nothing. The weird thing is the game doesn't seem to want to stop synching.

Do you have a second graphics controller (AMD RADEON HD or NVIDIA GEFORCE) in your laptop computer?

No, that is the only Graphics controller on my system. the game does let me do the tutorials still, which doesnt seem to make sense to me if it were graphic related.

Intel HD Integrated Graphics (Pentium)

The minimum required for Cities XL is an ATI/AMD RADEON HD 3000 series or NVIDIA GEFORCE 8 series graphics card.

The system requirements is available on the Store:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/231140/

System Requirements
Minimum:
OS: WINDOWS XP SP3/WINDOWS VISTA SP1/WINDOWS 7/WINDOWS 8
Processor: AMD/INTEL 2.5 GHZ
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: 512 MB 100% DIRECTX 9 COMPATIBLE ATI RADEON HD 3850/NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 OR HIGHER

The game is too much unstable on an Intel HD graphics controller.

honestly 2gb is not enough for windows. steam adn a game with any sizable city and will result in poor performance and ur going to run out of memory

so your min req need to be updated if people r going to enjoy it... else u see all the complaints

The graphics driver incompatibality doesnt make sense because like i said...the game was working fine before and my laptop has always had this graphics driver. ALSO the tutorial still works which runs off that graphics driver.
