ive used it with both windows 7 and windows 8 without any problems.

so its not the game in itself. many people having problems are having problems due to other issues.

if ur having problems look at end of log files for reason

search web with that error and see what others did to resolve

its not hard and it should run just fine

To be honest, it is the games issues. I could run it better on Windows XP then I could run it on Windows 7 and 8. And even then it lag horribly on all 3 operation systems. The game is horribly optimize.

Anyway John, try running the game in compatible mode on Windows XP SP3. And then post back if it runs or at least leaves an error.

works great on my 4.5 year old i7 laptop dualbooting win7 ult x64 and win 8.1 pro wmc. there is a patch that needs to be installed if running cxlp under win 8 however.

? what patch

im not running anything other than the steam version nd it runs great on my windows 8.1 and before windows 8 and before that windows 7

perhaps patch is not needed... or perhaps ur using the non steam version which does require u to do the patches yourself... and yes for the non steam version there are patches u have to do... but that is why i buy from steam, they do patches for the games i buy from them using steam and i dont do a thing, well run the client and wait for patch to download and install, but it always up to date ;)

i dont exactly understand what the issue fixes, but heres the link

it is appearently some sort of protection patch, which also requires us to change permissions for cxlp folders as well. idk, maybe steam already has the patch integrated

as far as i know that is for their version, not the steam version...

i certainly have not applied the patch and its running great without it

idk about that i installed the patch, on my system, no changes under win7 but seems to work better slightly under win 8. steam did not even seem to notice that i replaced the exe file

If you try to run the game in windowed mode on windows 8 the game crashes so if you can't get it to run try deleted the drectory for the game in the %appdata% that fixed my problems with the game.

i'm fine with windows 7.

I am running the game under Windows 7 ultimate x64 with no problems.

I don’t mean to rain on your tirade, but the system requirements state Windows 7 compatibility, which is what I run (64 bit)… and I’ve never had a problem running the game.

Granted, the game has other performance issues… but the OS incompatibility mentioned in the OP isn’t one of them.
