Quake Is one of ID's Great Classics. In my opinion, this is the best of the franchise. Back in the day, this was the Game to play on the PC. After seing what was ground-breaking about the graphics and fun level design of Doom, only 3 years later, (In 1996) ID got everything great about Doom and Doom 2, and Doubled it. And for the time, the Graphics were Jar-Dropping. Until now, First person shooter games had 2D Sprites and only the maps were made up of poly-gons. Quake on the other hand, was true 3D Graphics. Now that we have the revolution that came with this great game out of the way, let's talk about the game itself.
First of all, the level design is Great, The weapons are like your regular doom weapons basically, like your Shotgun, Super Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, ect. But then, you have some Medeival Weapons, like the Thunderbolt Gun and the Axe. That's another interesting thing about this game, the art of the game. Never before we seen a Style like it. And the music or "Soundtrack" is GREAT! The only bad thing here, is the steam version screws you over and doesn't have the Music, so you have to install a Patch.
