Controller Help

Just got a new logitech gamepad for y computer, runs fine all my other games except quake. I've tried switching the mode switch as well as pressing the actual mode button that is on the face of the controller with no success. Any ideas or suggestions on this matter would be appreciated.

helpful but not what im looking for. I dont wan to mod the game or have to put in any extra commands for it recognize my controller, i just wanna play it the way steam gave it to me.

No luck for you then. :-) Quake didn't ship with controller support in 1996.
