[possible spoilers] Anyone managed to get through the 3-key lock?
I played this game for a while before it came to steam, and I managed to get good enough that I could bring plenty of seeds back to the hub area and build bridges to all the other characters/starting points.
Once I had access to all of those platforms it seemed like there wasn't anything left to achieve except building a garden in a level to gain access to three keys and the 3-key lock.

I've just started again on the steam version now, and I've chosen not to import my save game from before so that I can experience it all over again, but I'll be trying to get through that 3-key lock each time I play now.

The rate that the darkness consumes the blocks seems really slow now on the first character/starting point, and with my experience from playing before I've come close to getting 3 keys now. Still haven't quite got there though.

So, has anyone on here done it?

I don't want to hear the details of what happens when you do, but I'd like to hear if anyone has got there, and any tips that might make it easier to achieve.

I'm in the same spot as you are. I've played for a little bit, and just feel like "is this... it?". Expanded my garden to the other platforms. Only took an hour or two.

I guess I'm not even sure what experience there is to experience. You should be able to figure out the basic concepts of the game inabout 5-10 minutes of just messing around.

Not sure what else there is to do? Am I just suppsed to try and get awesome at farming the heart seeds and unlocking three keys?

I've only recently jumped the first area into the second area (and then called it a session, and stopped there), but to me it always seems like I don't have enough seeds to get 3 keys, AND progress to the next area. Let alone get 3 keys.

Also, you should move the spoiler tag of your post to the front, that way people can look away before seeing the spoiler-ish title.

I know its one of the things you notice, but there's probably something to them...

Since we are speaking openly (i really dont understand the mystery...) I am in almost the same boat. I have gone to some other platforms and I know I should go for the three keys but I am also wondering if this is it. Hopefully the three keys will take you to a different type of board. I was disappointed that the levels were the same just with slightly different seed behavior. I have only played for one night, which was fun enough, but I am hoping, with all the super secret stuff that the secret isnt how the seeds behave and is something else. Hopefully I am missing a big part of the game.

Without spoiling, the three key locks do indeed unlock new, immediately challenging content in each world. There's at least one YouTube video up of someone playing the mid/end-game at the moment, although it may not be immediately obvious.

Mild spoilers:

You may have noticed in the first world that the corruption block that starts just a bit above the initial island sometimes starts as a three-key lock. Basically, each corruption block has a chance to spawn as a three-key lock, so the more of them you grow within sight of, the better. Once you've found one, rush to build out to enough keys, grab some seedfruit, and onward to mystery!

Cool, thanks for telling me. A perfect amount of information :)

I just got to the fourth island ( if you count the initial one ) and this time there wasn't any message there :/ , I'll keep exploring

I need to get more practise before opening the 3-key lock.

I'm going to try to speak fairly broadly, since I don't want to spoil too much. There is at least one island where the different rules make it much easier to get keys and get to a 3 key lock. It still requires effort, but I've been behind the 3-key door at least twice. On that island, I'm pretty sure I could get 3 keys again in a couple of rounds, but I'm a bit stuck with what comes beyond, and I'm trying to find more islands in hopes of making things easier with a different island.

Yeah, the slightly different rules that each island gives you can definitely make a big difference.

Hm, I didn't even realize there were other islands. Something else to work towards I guess since three keys/lock are way out of my skill level.

Is there a way to farm more seeds too, or is 10 the max?

You always start a level with 10 seeds, but as stated on the first island of the hub area, "broken hearts yeild starseed treasure"
When you plant pink seeds, the pink heart blocks that grow can be destroyed to gain more seeds

Damn I'm stupid. I realized I was intermintently gaining new seeds, but I didn't realize how. That really clears it up for me, thanks!

Actually, this is one of the few cases where I think it really makes the game more fun.

Getting through the 3-key exit isn't too hard after you practice long enough. A general tip is to expand as far away from the spawn as you possibly can, and try to hit a few star blocks on your way (provided you have a safe enough distance between you and the block).

If you have the purple and pink pilgrim, it's extremely easy to farm massive amounts of seeds with a couple of playthroughs of that specific level. Take those seeds to a level you want to attempt the lock on and it'll be much much easier.

The easiest pilgrim to get the triple lock door with is the black one. It was the first one I achieved it with.
