LOw fps in menu and not registering key stroke

I bought the games and it's unplayable. When i start the game the menu and loading seems to run at 1 fps. i need to press a key at least 10 times to be registered.

i tried to reinstall the games and check the local files.
I have the latest driver.
the games was installed on my ssd and install it in my other ones with the OS.

here's my config.
i5 4690k
gtx 1080
16 gb of ram

anyone have any clue on the issue.

What OS (and version)?
Any programs running in the background that could be causing problems?
Did you try it immediately after a reboot?

Could it somehow be running on the integrated graphics instead of your GeForce? (You should be able to disable integrated graphics on your bios/boot setup if you're not sure).

Nothing in particular, any other games are working fine.
nop, i will try that.

it would be weird to be running from onboard graphic as the everythign is going through my gtx 980.
