The Magician's Apprentice anybody?
It really feels like someone drew some heavy influences from the Magician's Apprentice (the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia)

You mean "The Magician's Nephew", which is the sixth? The first is "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe".

I don't think so. Could you elaborate?
I loved "The Magician's Nephew". But I don't see any similarities ^_^

"The Magician's Nephew", sorry. However, that was the first book. "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" was actually the third book. I have the whole chronicle on my book shelf.

It depends on the order you want to go by, "The Magician's Nephew " is first chronologically speaking, however it was written 6th if you go by publication date.

Well, TheLaymanKing, could you elaborate? What are those heavy influences? :)

When I watched the trailer, it very much felt like the introduction given in the book. It's difficult to pinpoint on a single detail, but all in all I felt like I was watching the first third of the book (with creative liberties, of course) when I was watching the trailer.

So you're only judging that from the trailer? Got to say - play the game. :) In reality it isn't very similar to the book, but if you like that kind of thing, then I'm sure you will also like the story here. :)

I read that C.S. Lewis book. Remember the world or plane with all the water holes in them, where the color of the rings determine whether the children went forward or back. It must be the concept of many worlds and a travel-hub-world that the opener means is similar. Seeing the screenies I more come to think of Alice in Wonderland and The Wind in the Willows.
