Should I take advantage of this sale?
I know, the salespeople will say "yes". I see that there is a version 2.0 coming out soon? I have been using the trial, and I do like it, and would consider getting this at the $80 price, but not if 2.0 is going to blow it away with great new features, and there is no way to migrate, leaving me feeling like I wasted $80 (even though I would still use the program).
Should I get this now, or will I have buyer's remorse with the new release?

...I did see the FAQ about upgrading and migrating later, maybe, with some kind of Steam arrangement, but it's a bit vague on details...
Hey Soylent Grin. Sorry for the "late" response, so close to the expiry of the deal. But you still have a bit more than one hour left to make a decision :).

If you decide to purchase now, you can still upgrade to 2.0 conveniently when it comes to Steam for just the price difference. Your project files will be migrated to the 2.0 version automatically when you open them (note: but you can't downgrade them back to 1.5). So you should be safe, whichever way you're going.

Best,
-Kai
Thank you, Kai. I decided to take advantage of it, shortly after I posted. It's good to know that I can upgrade easily if I want to go that way later. I have been impressed with it during my trial and have been using it more and more, and thought it was well worth it no matter what.

I'm not designing a game, I've been flexing my writing muscles over the past year, and I've used this to lay out story lines and develop characters, settings and dialog for two book ideas. There isn't much game crossover potential for the stories, but I'm intrigued by the ease with which an adaptation could be made if any future novels head that direction.

Thank you for this very flexible tool.
