Very similar to Nebulus (C64)
Anyone remember this for the commodore 64? it used to be one of my favourite games. I still own it + if you have an iPhone/iPod touch you can now get it for the commodore 64 app.

It made really effective use of the basic graphics and was really fun to play, although I never managed to get past level 6 or 7.

Anyway this Divo is very similar in design, and I think I will probably buy it at some point. A simple 2D platformer that's really fun to play.

It was also on the Atari 7800 as Tower Toppler and the NES as Castelian. I never played the C64 version but the NES was really good (and really hard). The 7800 had poor music and sound since Atari cheaped out and used the same sound chip in the 7800 that was used in the 2600.
Ah, I guess I'm not the only one to notice the similarity between the two games, then. The moment I saw climbing up on the tower like this, Nebulus was the first thing that came to mind.
That game was badass insane hard! :D

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers this classic game.

and... Nebulus / Tower Toppler is *still* a *way better* game than DIVO.
Hate to say it.

there is an open source remake of Tower Toppler already with updated graphics, and it runs on many systems: http://toppler.sourceforge.net/
(just sayin')

DIVO looks great, I think I will buy it, when the price drops a bit...
Good to see it's not just me either. I saw the trailer and was like, this is totally inspired by Castelian. :D

Also, FWIW, there's a GB version of Castelian.

That's not to say this game is a clone. It's definitely got a bunch of distinctive features, starting with the magnetism ability.

Oh snap! I just started a seperate thread about Castelion. I didn't realize that it had other names on different platforms. It looks like there are a lot of us 30 somethings on Steam lol :-)
