Fell down a pit, in Temple of the Sun
I fell into a room in Temple of the Sun. As I was falling, the spikes on the floor vanished. The only things in the room are the cart which I must have pushed down there already, and what looks like an eqyptian cross.
Is there something I can do here, or do I have to realod my save.
Even if I have to reload my save, is there a way of doing that without alt-f4 in the game?

( I uploaded a picture of the room, not sure if this is viewable in steam client)

The game warns you to only go down there once you have beaten all the puzzles in that zone, currently you cannot do anything in the room as you do not have the necessary item, the only way out is to teleport using the Holy Grail, if you don't have that then you will have to quit and then load a save.

Even if he had that item and succeeded at, um, what happens when you interact with that ankh (egyptian cross), he'd still be stuck down there without the Holy Grail.

So, basically, go back to Gate of Guidance and get the Holy Grail ASAP.

If you get stuck in an inescapable pit with no way out, that's the game's way of telling you "You screwed up and hit a dead end".

Just of note, you don't have to alt-f4 to quit the game. If you open up the MSX Laptop, you can scroll over to the last Tab on the laptop menu (Config/9), there is a Reset option. If you select yes, you will be returned to the Title Screen of the game, though you will lose any unsaved progress.

As mentioned above, you're meant to get the Holy Grail before you leave the Guidance Gate. It's an extremely important and useful item, and you should backtrack to go get it ASAP The Holy Grail is essentially your get-out-of-jail-free-card for practically any situation you find yourself in - Stuck in a pit, poison gas, drowning in water/lava, crusher/spike traps, tough sub-boss fights, etc.(It won't save you from getting stuck by lightning though, so do be careful!)

Exception though, you can't use the Holy Grail during any Guardian fight, so be sure you're prepared before using one of those Ankh Jewels. Also, the Holy Grail is sealed in one specific late game area, preventing you from teleporting out of there unless you find the exit or kill a ceretain Guardian. Also, it does "break" during the final boss battle, so if you want to win the game, you're gonna have to hot-foot it out of there the old fashiolned way!

Awesome, thank for that. I haven't played the game since, but I'll probably give it a go today.

I'd really concentrate on the gate of guidance until you get to the first boss- that area has few instant death traps, and aside from a few (I think six) puzzles, you can beat the whole area in one go. I suggest you read my guide, because unless you come at this game from a certain angle you won't get into it, and it already looks like it is loosing you. My guide includes an introduction to LA-MULANA, A walkthrough of how to get into and start conquering the ruins, and spoiler free tips that will carry you through the game.
