Considering the developer (NIGORO) is Japanese, the odds are really grim. People have tried to ask PLAYISM about it, but we have no promises.

Me too!
I'd definitely love to play this in linux, but I purchased anyway. It'll be a while before I get around to playing, but I wanted to show my support of the initial steam release. :) Maybe a linux port will pop up by the time I get around to playing?

Thanks for the steam release, either way!
Linux port would be greatly appreciated, adding it to my wishlist for now.
I would like that!

The game showed up today in my Steam on Linux. I installed it but it was 0 bytes, and now the Linux support indicator has been removed as well. Anyhow I hope it means that Linux port is in the works and not far from being released. :-)
I saw the game in the Linux library too. I think it was there for 2-3 hours. It was a nice surprise since I wasn't expecting this game to have any Linux support at all.

The steamdb page shows signs of both Linux and Mac support: http://steamdb.info/app/230700/#section_history
Don't... crush my hopes like that :(

Yes, Japanese games and Linux is like trying to fit a square rod into a round hole. Hope we see some change in this soon, as japanese games (doujin games in particular) is what keeps me tied to Windows.
Game showed up in my library of Mac games. It installed, but says it's missing executable file when I try to play it.

That's probably because it's a private beta. Only the people with the right password are able to download the game files and run them. I think!
How about them making sure the game runs properly on everyone's pcs first before working on a Linux version or a 2nd game. I really ticked off that is suddenly not playing tonight.
I really hope they release a Linux port. Indie games and Linux just go so well together. Cave Story is Japanese, and it has a Linux port, so I can see a Linux port happening in the future. It better not be just another "port" that uses a wine wrapper. I wouldn't consider games that use wine wrappers as "ports". Until then, I will just have to wait to purchase. The game reminds me so much of Castlevania, It looks so fun.

I wouldn't mind a wine wrapped version, as long as it is done well. People liked to bellyache about LIMBO being wine wrapped but that ran flawlessly for me, and it wasn't until a few days after first playing it that I even found out it was wine wrapped when I heard people complaining in forums about it. Though I hear LIMBO has finally got a proper port on the way shortly thanks to Icculus, already shows up in my library.

I think the Linux version of System Shock 2 on here is also a wine wrapped game, in that case it was because they don't even have the original source to work from anymore from what I've heard. On a similar note I am looking forward to Linux support from GOG, in order to gain access to some classic games that will certainly be using emulation. I am fine with it as long as it is fairly seamless and out of sight and still giving me the same feel as the Windows version.
