Lords or Football Manager
Been trying to decide between buying this Lords of Football game of Football Manager 2013. They seem to be two different types of football simulation but I'm interested to hear from anyone thats tried both. Thoughts?

Football Manager 2013 is a much more in-depth football Manager. This however means you'll basically be playing a spreadsheet for the most part(which is completely fine! - there's a 3D match engine but I personally don't use it). Lords of Football does have simulation elements but it also has a lot of wacky ones. It's a much more visual experience.

If you're after a proper simulation experience, get Football Manager. Else, Lords of Football.

Oh, and Football Manager has been much cheaper than Lords of Football before. (I think the cheapest it's been was $12)

Depend on your preferences. Both are massively different. Right now Football Manager might meet your expectation if you're looking for serious management simulation. Lords of Football geared toward casual, it does feel like a tablet game because of the simple mechanics.
Football Manager is a proper simulation game. Lords of Football is more of a "lunch break" game you can sit down and play for 30 minutes and accomplish things.

Football Manager is very hard to get into. If you're looking to get your feet wet, pick up LoF and if you like the management aspects then grab FM14 when it comes out later this year.

Football Manager 2013 has a "streamlined" kind of mode, where it takes away a lot of the really in-depth micro management side of it, im told. If you want a casual Football Manager expirience, i'd say Football Manager on your iPhone/Android.

This is not a football management or simulation game, this is some Sims-y time-management-esque people babysitting sim in football clothes.
They're entirely different games.

Agreed - if your interest is football then go with FM. LoF could well be about any sport or activity and not change it's form at all, very little to do with football strategies or team management.

FM2013 is always better, unless you're looking to play a football theme Sims. Then LoF. Otherwise, FM2013 in all cases.

As an ardent defender of anything NOT Football Manager I still stay FM2013 is the way to go. The difference is mostly in the genre, LoF is a game, while FM is a simulation series and have completely different focus. At the moment I will have to say that neither is nowhere near its potential, and LoF has the most growing to do. FM on the other hand, needs to get off its high perch and actually get competition so spending money on other games than theirs might help too.

LoF=The Sims, the football manager pack!

I would say that LoF is a more vitual way of a managing game but FM2013 is more of a spreadsheet game using more In depth desicions... it all dependends on what type of style you like really
