You need to spend real money to get more warframe slots.
What is the point in having the option to build nearly every weapon or warframe in the game without spending money if you can only have 2 warframes and 8 weapons? I think that the devs should add an option to buy more slots for 15,000 or 30,000 credits or something so that you don't get to the point in the game where the only way to continue is to spend money. Really it wouldn't even be hard to make it like that; it would take like 5 minutes to add the option to buy slots with credits. maybe something like every extra slot bought with credits costs twice as much so it is a lot easier to buy it with platinum but you aren't forced to.

You are allowed to earn anything that actually influences your performance, and you are complaining (in the wrong forum) about limitations of slots. I believe it's perfectly find that warframe slots and weapon slots are limited with only the option to buy them as it does not make one player stronger just because they bought something from the cash shop.

Added to that, color options are also cash shop buys only, and are purely auestetic. Why didn't you cry about that as well?

so basically, you want a full game for free?? just use the 50plat from the start and buy 2 warframe slots and if you want to try a new one just sell your least favorite one...
just because it's F2P doesn't mean the developers get nothing in return for their work

Wow what a great community, I'm sorry for expressing my opinion.

I think he's pretty much saying that for people who can't (or don't want to) spend money, they should have an alternative. I mean, spending money does help the devs, but everyone isn't gonna have money on hand. Games like TF2 handle it very well. They inventory slots in that game aren't limited at all. Yet you have to pay for things like weapons and cosmetics. They can still make money without limiting your carry capacity.

Actually on TF2, I believe you do have to purchase more backpack slots or at least *Upgrade to premium* for more backpack slots. However, this being said. I do agree that they should make more warframe slots avaliable. To seperate or make payers have a slight advantage. Set the most slots you can owned with ingame currency to about 5-7 and purchased slots 10+(Or unlimited).
This gives everyone the oppurtunity to have more freedom in this game, which is a plus for any game. However my numbers I picked are a bit exaggerated. I would want at least 3 warframe slots myself.

Well I have Platinum and only two warframe slots, and yes I already had up to 3 different warframes and I sold my least favorite, I'm not complaning and yet I have the possibility to have more than two at the same time. Three would probably be the perfect number, but you can't ask them slots for credits, credits are too easy to come by.

Keep in mind that TF2 requires money to unlock boxes which carry a item.

More slots is only a convenience really, and the cost atm if you were to spend money is insignificant.

In reality if they did allow for a method to increase slots that isn't platinum based it should be mastery level based and relatively high. Not credit based, as SquarePirate pointed out, credits are ridiculously easy to come by.

My problem isn't that i don't have money; I have plenty of money. It's just that I have no way of spending it on the internet, so eventuslly i will run out of slots and not be able to progress.

Slot availability =/= progression.

Slot availability = collectionist.

Keep in mind that TF2 has an ECONOMY, which means you can basically build an iventory without having actually spent real world money in the game. Warframe, however, does not, and using platinum is the only way to upgrade.

Personally, I would very much like to see Warframe entering the Steam Trade Community (selling mods and such for TF2 items).

What progress? If you're refering to MasteryRank, you keep the points when you sell a warframe/weapon, so just sell your least favorite one & then move on. Try to use weapons/warframes that you think you'll hate, so you'll be less likely to get attached to them & refuse to sell'm.

Plus you did recieve 50 free platinum when you 1st started, you could've bought 2 more frame slots OR 1 frameslot + 4weapons.

There is talk about making slots buyable with credits, and I would hope for it too.... but for now, im semi-happy with what i got. It sometimes just takes some thought about what you really wanna do. I leveled a viper to 30, then crafted that into dualvipers & currently leveling that upto 30... these "2" weapons only took up 1slot in the main scheme of things. Ill do the same thing with Lato>Bolto>Akbolto.
Yes, I would like to see credit'able slots, so I dont have to sell all these weapons that I've worked hard on. But also it's not toooooo big of a deal breaker to me.

--I spammed Alertmissions alot, then just decided to buy EVERY weapon bp from the market, so I can more easily determine my weapon paths ^_^

Do you live in the 90s? It sounds more like you don't want to spend it (money) on the internet.

You can sell your weapons and warframes that you aren't using and build them again later if you're really adamant about not spending a few bucks for a lot more slots.
Stark2g May 13, 2013 @ 11:02am
I'm not gonna pretend that I don't spend money on the internet. I spend a ton. You can tell by the crap ton of games I own. Haha. But anyways, I think that charging for content like this is the way to go. I'm just saying that it could be done in a better way. Maybe not at the moment. As the game is still in beta, I'd say that everything they're doing right now is heading in the right direction. Of course, I'd like to see a few changes in the money based content. Then again, they DO give you 50 free platinum at the start which is enough to do at least one or two things that would otherwise involve money.

I think a good alternative to buying being the ONLY way, would be to have weapon slot blueprints be a possible (maybe rare) reward for completing void missions. Maybe only third tier or something to make them more difficult to attain. I'm not arguing that the pay only is a horrible idea, I think if the creators were nice enough to make such a good quality game for free, I have no problem spending 5 bucks for a couple weapon and Warframe slots. and that really is all it would take.

You can use the referral system to get two additional weapons slots and one warframe slot.
