Warframe
A Trap 2013년 9월 18일 오후 8시 09분
New and confused!
Hello all, I'm fairly new to the game today being my 3rd day of playing and man am I confused. I figured a bunch of stuff out (which I wish I knew earlier) but still confused about the rest of the game. "Keys" and "Potatoes" are something people keep saying but I'm having no idea what they are or what they mean.
I would also like to know where I can get the Nekros drops to make the warframe and what I should spend the 50 plat the game gave me.
Also why does it feel like this game is really pushing you to buying plat's?
What's max level one can be in the game?
Do certain warframes deal more damage with certain weapons?
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and thanks again if you comment :D

Keys and Potatoes - Keys are known as void keys. These are special missions and the keys for these missions can be earned from endless defense missions. Potatoes are Orokin Catalysts and Orokin Reactors. The Catalyst would upgrade your weapon mods capacity to 60 once your weapon is at level 30. The reactor upgrades Warframe mod capacity to 60. These don't have to be bought with platinum and can be received as an alert reward. I think there should be an alert for the Reactor going on right now. Don't install a Reactor into a Warframe unless you intend to keep that Warframe. Same goes for weapons and Catalysts.
Nekros Drops - Nekros blueprints drop from Orokin Derelict missions. It would be easier to check the Warframe Wiki for this. It explains it better. Here is the link to the Wiki regarding info on the location of the Nekros Blueprint drops:
http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Orokin_Derelict
And how to build keys to get to the Orokin Derelict:
http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Nav_Coordinates
I'd recommend saving the 50 platinum until you need it. Use it as you go. Don't spend it on resources. All resources can be gained by playing. And I would say that the game isn't trying to force you to buy platinum. The high prices are probably meant to encourage players to actually play through the game and earn their items.
Max Level - Not sure what you mean by that. If you mean Warframe Ranks and weapon ranks, they can only go up to 30. If you're talking about Mastery Rank, I'm not sure about that.
Warframes and Weapons Damage - It's depends mroe on the faction. But Corpus have 3x damage to electricity and Infested have 3x damage to fire. Grineer are more weak against Armor Piercing mods. Volt with weapons that have electric mods can deal higher damage to Corpus since Volt is a frame with electric powers. Ember with weapons that have fire mods can deal higher damage to Infested since Ember is a frame with a frame with fire powers.
I hope I helped! :)

Not alot is explained in this game. The wiki is your friend: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/WARFRAME_Wiki
There are also plenty of guides on steam.

Keys are used to get to certain levels (the void, and derelict).
You get void keys by doing defense and survival missions.

You get derelict keys by collect navigation coordinates which drop from containers in any level. Then you must buy the key blueprint in the market. Then you must craft it in the foundry, then use it. The necroframe can be obtained within the derelict by defeating the boss (golem). You get blueprint parts then craft the warframe. It's confusing, and alot of people are complaining about it, but whatcha gunna do..

Potatoes are Orokin Catalysts and Orokin Reactors, they double the amount of mod points a warframe or weapon has so you can put in more mods. I'd advise buying these with your 50 plat. They can be found in the market.

The game is really pushing you to buy plat's cause thats how the developers eat and create more content for Warframe. ;)
It's not necessary to buy plat, everything (besides some cosmetics) can be obtained in the game. If you like the game and don't mind paying some, I'd advise to wait till you get a 50% or 75% discount coin (which you can get for one of the login rewards), or get a founders pack.

The max level for anything is level 30.

Warframes don't deal more damage with certain weapons. Whatever weapon you use with a warframe doesn't matter, it's just what your most comfortable with.

EDIT: Fusion beat me :P

So put the potatoes on your favorite frame and weapons?
For the Nekros stuff, how does the key work? Do I need any key or is there a tier key I need? In the void, is it the same as normal level with planets and such, because that could be a drag if I need to get a bunch of keys to fight that new golem for nekros parts...
Someone said I should use it on warframe spots, cause I said how I wanted a scarf :D
Max level for everything! 30 it is!
That is incredibly helpul info right there, does armor piercing only effect Grineer or everyone?
Thank you for all that :D!
Another question appears!
What's the deal with sentinels? Do they have health or just shields?
Do they have infin ammo?
can I equip them with a gun?
How do I bulk up a sentinel to not die so fast?
Which sentinel can take the most damage/deal the most damage?
I see people with sentinels I can't find in the market, are they exclusives?

Yup. Potato only weapons/Warframes you intend to keep for a long time or forever. Potatoes can't be removed and installed onto another Warframe or weapon so be careful with choosing what to potato.

The Nekros key is a bit complicated. You need to do regular missions to get Nav Coordinates to build regular derelict keys. Open lockers and chests in regular missions (on any planet) and try to get Nav Coordinates. Then you have to build a Derelict Key by buying a blueprint for it in the Equipment section in the market. Then you have to go to the Derelict missions to get Golem Nav Coordinates to use to build the Assassination key. After you have 5 Golem Navs then buy the Derelict Assassination key blueprint, build that, and get a group of people to fight the boss. The good thing is that you are guaranteed a blueprint drop for Nekros no matter what. You get a random part for Nekros at the end of the mission as a reward. So if you don't see a drop don't panic. You will get a Nekros part in the end of the mission. Also, go to the recruiting tab to see if people need a squad for Golem Assassination. Then you won't have to build any keys and you can just join them to farm for Nekros parts.

For the platinum yes, you should use it on Warframe slots. But use it when you need it. When you are crafting another frame, then buy another slot if both are already taken. But don't buy slots yet, only when you need them.

Armor Piericing affects everyone. But it is especially effective against Grineer because of their high armor rating.

Sentinels are like little pets. Like a Warframe, they have a shields and health and can get mods to increase shield level and health, just like a Warframe. To make sure a sentinel doesn't die, add shield mods and health mods. They also have infinite ammunition. For offense, I'd recommend Dethcube. For stealth, I'd recommend Shade. The sentinel not available in the market is a clan sentinel. You would need to join a clan to build those. Dethcube is more of an offense sentinel with an automatic rifle. So if you're looking for damage, I'd recommend Dethcube.

Cool! Do they have to reload? I also saw some Dethcubes shoot like a lazer instead of bullets, is that a mod? Does Dethcube have the same amount of range as any other sentinel?

to help you with the sentinel questions, yes they have both health and shields (not a whole lot though) yes they do have unlimited ammo. and the weapons that you can put on them come with other sentinels. each having a specific one but can be mixed and mached. a good way to beef up your sentinel is to look for mods, namely regen and other things that increase its sheild strength. not sure about the best sentinel out there, it depends on playstyle. and not in store ones usually are ones reserched in your clan. after it's done with the recerch you can buy the bluprints from the clan. hope that helps.

No. It makes the Sentinels come back to life faster.

*Edit: Actually the sentinel comes back to life right away, but fusing the mod increases the amount of health gained when he comes back to life.
Thanks for Suzaku for correcting me!

Wrong. A sentinel comes back to life instantly, but only once. That's the green flash you see it do while in mid-combat. What increasing it does, is increase the amount of health it regenerates with.

Since the sentinel technically doesn't die when this regen occurs, its threat isn't wiped. This means that enemies will continue to target it, and therefore, having it respawn with more health will give you a better chance of keeping it alive if you react fast enough.

Yeah there is always a drop so it's a good thing. But the drop is chosen randomly. So you may get the systems more than once or the helmet more than once. It just depends. I'd recommend taking Rhino for the Assassination mission. It's really helpful to Rhino Stomp when the boss is invlunerable so he freezes and you can damage him easily.

Each slot costs 20 platinum so you can get 2 Warframe slots. And I agree Nekros is a really cool frame! :)

I'm not 100% sure if the sentinels need to reload. However I am completely sure that Dethcube doesn't need to reload. He can keep on shooting forever. And the laser beam that Dethcube shoots is one of Dethcube's abilities. It's a high damage laser that can literally vaporize an enemy. Fusing it would allow the laser to cool down faster and it would increase it's damage. I believe all sentinels have the same amount of range but I'm not completely sure. But all sentinel weapon ranges can be increased by fusing the mods. Also, don't sell any of your rifle mods. The same mod on your primary weapon can't be equipped onto a sentinel weapon at the same time. So I'd recommend keeping two of each mods.

But I do know that Dethcube's range can be increased by fusing his abilities.

Sentinels don't have to reload, but they often have a short cooldown between shots (literally less than or up to a second). This delay between shots is based on the weapon, so placing a Laser Rifle (Wyrm's weapon) on a Dethcube will have him fire it the same way, rather than a non-stop spray like he would with the Deth Machine Rifle.

The range of attack is based on the attack precept that is equipped. Dethcube will fire the Sweeper shotgun from a much further distance than the Carrier will because the Swift Deth precept has more range than the Striker precept.
