Really bad FPS lag (particle effects)
My specs :
4gb ram (64bit windows 7)
amd phenom II x6 1090T 3.2ghz
560 GT nvidia geforce

I'm running the game on highest with dx11 and I get about 50fps but whenever I get into any fights with more than about 3-4 things shooting/hitting skills I dip below 10 fps. If I turn off color correct that 10 turns into 15~20 ish and 60fps any other time. With the game on lowest settings (non dx11) the fps doesn't change much in fact it gets a bit worst. The best seems to be if I play on dx11 with color correction off. Vsync seems to make no difference, neither do any of the other settings. Shadows seems to make it gain about 1-2 fps maybe...

Really just seems like bad optimization for amd, or is there something else I can try, like some INI somewhere?

Edit : Wow...something really strange is I turned bloom on ( I usually have it off) and whenever I see particle effects the fps doesn't really go down at all...however I'm at about 35-40fps all the time now. Gonna tweak more settings to see what I come up with..really wish I could keep bloom off though it blinds me sometimes lol

maybe turn dx11 off

Dx11 on or off doesn't seem to make a difference, I've had it off though for most of my testing. I'm dipping to 30fps ish in missions where I carry the hostage (red glowing constantly on my character) which is pretty bad...hard to aim with 30fps with a shotgun.

I discussed this I thought in my post, bloom off loses about 10fps or so. Motion blur off doesn't do jack (except not give me a headache) and vsync doesn't seem to help or hurt with it off or on.

You lack ram, thats all I can say really, your runnign a 64bit windows client with 4gigs of ram, you really only have 2gbs of ram, upgrading to 8gbs of ram would increase it drastically as your graphics card is only 1gb.

Odd, when I play games they don't take up all of my ram...seems weird that I would need more than 4gb though. I'll look into it though ram is pretty cheap, thanks.

Would like to make sure that would help it though.

Edit : That can't be it, when I play warframe it says I have over 1200mb ram available...that also seems more like an issue that would crash the game/computer rather than simply slowing my fps as well.

4GB of RAM is plenty for most games so i don't see how that could be an issue

It is as I said the only thing I can think of, unless your motherboards a piece of doogy doo, orr your CPU is crap since your graphics card is good, and I assume you have at HDD space..

450gb~ hd space remaining..cpu seems fine, it's a hex-core which of course there isn't a game out there that actually uses all 6 cores correctly I've read/heard but it should be running perfectly :/ my brother has the same CPU and his game runs perfectly fine, he even has a similar motherboard to mine. I believe my motherboard is an EVGA something or other but it had great ratings on newegg when I bought it.

Just updated drivers, still dips to 20~fps with lots of dudes/particle effects going off.

No virus's/etc.

Edit : Dx11 seems to be helping a bit, haven't had any slowdowns yet but no large battles/defense missions so far.

It's not gonne help much but....i experiment a lot of fps drop too, and it's very random : i can do a mission with 4 player perfectly fine and just after that 15fps with only 2 player in the mission...i think it's a problem about the game itself too.

This is interesting because I have the same thing happen, when I play one of the older areas (the areas like in the beginning of the game) I rarely experience an fps drop, but if I play one of the new areas like those caves and such I get lots of fps dropping especially when the area has those random fires everywhere. Snow area seems to be somewhere in the middle but it's mostly good fps for me. Even the old areas lag pretty badly for me though when there's tons of particle effects on the screen.

Edit : So I've had a torrent going when I played the last week or two (wasn't taking up much bandwidth, maybe 15%~ of it) but now that I have no torrents or downloads going on right now my fps is really smooth like it used to be, 40+ dipping to 35~ when there's a ton of effects and I'm surrounded by enemies. So maybe this thing is network based, as in when I'm in a laggy game it gets worst (it does seem to be worst in games with npc's teleporting around) not sure how taking up 15% of my bandwidth makes me lose 15~25 fps but I've seen crazier things before.

Got kinda the same issue. The game start fine, 60 fps all the time, whatever the size of the rooms or the number of monsters. But then, with the minutes of playing going on, the FPS start to drop, little by little. And at the end of the mission, fps are close to 10, whenever i am in a huge battle or in an empty corridor looking straight at my foot.

Right... I'm Having Issues where with everything maxed, i get 70-80fps easy...my pc can handle it no problem... then there are some maps/times, where it drops to 30-45fps and lags a little.. for about 20mins.. then fixes it's self.. but.. it does it quite Frequently.... Specs are as Follows.

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600k @3.5GHz
GPU: PNY Gtx 660 Ti XLR8 Edition
MotherBoard: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3
OS Drive: Kingston SSD / 450mbp/s
Storage Drive: 1Tb Seagate Barracuda @7200rpm
Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @1600MHz
