This game is truly terrible value for money
You can either grind forever to get components and then spend almost a week waiting for a cooldown to end while your suit is being 'built' or you can pay money to instantly get new warframes.

The problem is that the grind is completely excessive and everything in game is insanely expensive if you want to use real money. We're talking about $20 for just a single suit without any extra weapons, colors, mods ect.

The devs need to make this game like Airmech. They have a $19.99 package in that game where you unlock all the Airmechs (including every airmech that will ever come in the future) as well as a bunch of core units in the game. This gives you a great position to play the game from as you have loads of choice and flexibility whilst still having stuff to unlock in game. Because of this airmech has a great community and a cult following that are happy to support the devs and are loyal to the game.

I'd love to put some money down on warframe but can't justify it when everything is so insanely expensive. I could get 4 epic games on sale for $20 or a single suit in this game. crazyness.

I have 5 warframes and played now for two weeks, the only thing i have bought with plat is slots to put the warframes into.
Airmech in your example has loads of small cosmetics you cant unlock without diamonds, almost everything in Warframe can be obtained in game.
To put things into perspective, World of Tanks have some tanks that cost 50€ and they too come without any gear or crew and the tank itself is not available to get in game.

I kinda agree on platinum getting you too little for what it costs. I mean, the only people losing out on this are the devs: I'm not gonna pay a single cent because paying $20 would get me barely anything right now.

HOWEVER, I've been playing for maybe 2-3 weeks and I have three frames and I've filled out my weapon slots with items from the Braton to the Hek, and I don't see the grind as being that excessive. The craft times are a bit long though.

The game is fine as it is, as has been stated, everything with the exception of warframe slots and color packs can be acquired in game with some time and effort. If you just buy everything the game goes stale extremely quickly as farming mats for items is essentially the only thing to do. Really, if you just bought every warframe/weapon what is there left aside from completing all the missions? Nothing. It's perfectly fine the way it is, yes stuff is expensive if you buy platinum, but I beleive that's more to encourage people to get the most out of the game. Regardless of price there's going to be people who do buy platinum for whatever reason so there's really no reason for it to change, at least not until there's a lot more content.

Well, the "nothing" after you buy everything is there mainly because it's still in beta phase and in terms of F2P, basically, still in development.
It won't stay like this forever - or at least let's hope so :)

About the warframe cost - I would personally make the warframes even more expensive.

The grind to craft weapons and warframes is the entire point of the game right now. Buying weapons and warframes will cause you to get bored faster. Buying them all would leave you with nothing to do.

I considered buying Saryn. I didn't think I would be able to get to the boss that drops her blueprints because high level missions that are not bosses or defense missions almost always have to be done solo because no one ever wants to do them. I eventually found a group who also wanted to grind for Saryn and I did not buy her, we worked our way to the boss together. I felt that it was almost worth the cost to avoid the frustration of repeatedly failing missions because I suck. There are probably others who feel it is worth paying to save time.

Only 3 warframes are $20. The rest are $15 or $5. That isn't much more than a LoL character. Purchased warframes come with their ability mods, a slot to put them in, and they come supercharged (you do not have to use an Orokin Reactor on them). If buying a warframe or weapon is too much for you and you want to support the devs, why not buy a helmet or colour pack? You only have to buy colour packs once and you can use them on all of your warframes and weapons. More skins and cosmetic things are going to be added eventually. They are focusing mostly on adding real content right now.

I only spended $15 on a warframe since I hate the wait, and that it. While I do agree on how expensive everything is, but do remember this game isn't that big yet and they cant support the game without money. Beside you can always grind for what you want, I only want 1 warframe and I'm pretty sure I'll never buy a new 1 so I'm happy with the deal.

Exactly my point. Since it's Beta I don't really expect much more.

Honestly from my experience in the game, the differences in warframes are mostly aesthetics. Each warframe has about only 1 or 2 practical abilities, the others are meh/highly situational at best. If there's any warframe that justifies paying platinum for them, I would say it's Banshee seeing as there's no reliable way (a boss) to farm her.

That said I recently just built Saryn as my third warframe, I love the aesthetics of her but her skills are meh at best. Practically moult is the most useful, venom seems to place the spore inside a monster's body, contagion would be great if it had some sort of knockdown/back/stun resist and/or some damage reduction, and Miasma's actual AoE is rather pitful. I have a Hek though (which is op and I will probably shelve it once it's 30) and that more than makes up for any dissonance of ability usefulness, haha.

Not all players treat warframe like you do, I treat a warfame as a skin rather than any of it practical use since I spend more time shooting rather than remember to active my invulberability when I'm surrounded. It the same with why did many spend $20 for a skin in LoL and other game. Your value and other are different, remember that ;)

Actually that was more what I was getting at with that post, sorry if I wasn't clear about that. To put it simply, the different warframes are pretty much just cosmetic at this stage in the development process, the two outliers I can think of who don't have a "push for face melting" button of any sort would be Loki and Trinity.

Having to work for your frames no weapons is very gratifying when you do get them by your hard work.

My Saryn will finish on friday. I wanted her mostly for her appearance. She looks especially good after playing with lobsterbutt (Trinity).

uhmm the game is free.... how can that be too expensive? Grind? Not sure what your talking about, you have completed every mission(no yellow dots) and you still don't have enough materials for what you want?

The frames are pretty different honestly (at least in my opinion). Their skills have very different purposes from a utility standpoint (invincibility is pretty different from AoE damage, for example), and they do matter. Do a lot of them have similar abilities? Sure, but in the end they have their own unique combinations (and abilities). Not to mention the stats we have to take into account. Ember is slow, with low defense and only average health and shields, but she also has the highest recharge stat in the game (but she also has no skills that are really going to save her if things start going really bad). On the other hand, the Loki has low health and shields, the lowest shield recharge stat in the game, but is really fast (and has abilities fantastic for getting out of bad situations). Stats and abilities are going to play into the playstyle you get out of the Warframe.

I would hardly call any of these differences negligible, and thus frames are far more than just a cosmetic choice for many players.

its ok, warframes fpr 2,50 usd and everybody would run with the best warframes, i took my "forever" for my rhino, 20 runs and 9 hours and i could build him , now i have to wait for 3 days, tahts ok i can craft weapons and items for him so i can give him a new playstyle. Everything is ok andi dont know if this game will ever get out of beta but its cool.

So essentially your moaning that this FREE TO PLAY (terrible value, absolutly terrible) has nothing to do for someone who is so lazy that they want to buy everything straight off the bat instead of working for it?
the grind is nothing, you can get a couple of suits a day if your inclined too and the build time gives you a chance to recoup your losses or start working on your next suit so you can always have one building.
as for value, yea ok the plat is a lil on the steep side, so buy founders, the £35 one gets you a free suit and 1k plat, if they had made this game retail, you would have paid £40 for it anyway (and i almost guarentee you would have bought it or you wouldnt be moaining)
so basicly it s not value for money because your either too lazy, spoiled (ruch kid) or you just havnt really thought it through.

personaly I am a founder, I love this game, and last nights live stream only made me want more :D the plat I got from the founders? ive bought 2 colour packs and a shade total. I have no intention of using it (obviously will if something takes my fancy) on something that i can earn, no matter how hard it may be (im looking at you banshee!) becasue basicly id be "paying" to reduce my overall game time - not a wise move tbh.
So either pay the fee, support the devs and cut your own play time or dont play the game, its harsh but a social comunity dosnt need ppl who are just gunna moan about not having everything EXACTLY to their liking.

Appologies if i sound preechy, but ppl who moan about doing something they dont have to do that in the end will only defecit THEM, It jsut winds me up.
