Fingering Preference

I've been playing for awhile now, ~1500 hours to be exact, and it was only recently that I found out that the general fingering for slides and other shift+control functions is predominantly done with a pinky roll.

For most this probably seemed like a no brainer. "How else would you hit control while running?" is most likely being thought right now. Since I started playing the game in update 8 I've been using Shift: Pinky, Control: Thumb.

I just thought I'd leave this to see if anyone else has tried or is willing to try this particular fingering and to see if anyone else has a particular keybinding or macro they prefer to the more commonplace pinky roll.

That... is a very interesting wording, to put it lightly. But as for my ... khm, "fingering" preferences I like to use my pinkie on the ctrl and ring finger on shift when I'm running.

I re-bound my crouch (Toggle) to 'C'. Since i play a lot of FPS games, it's become something that I'm more used to than using Ctrl for crouching. Other than that, i basically kept the default key-map

I use pinky for shift and the base of my pinky for ctrl. It's a press>straighten motion. Pretty easy for me.

Pinkie on Shift/CTRL, Index, pointing, middle on W A and D
Right hand pointing finger on left click, middle finger on scroll, index on Right. Sometimes I put my Left hand (A Key) on Q for when I turn to the right as I wont need to turn left or I need to summon a Specter.

That is THE best title I've seen so far that still managed to be appropriate to the subject.

Also no, using your thumb means either moving it to the completely opposite side or moving your whole hand, that's just a lot of unnecessary effort to me, so pinky for both shift and ctrl.

For me my Pinkie is the Shift+CTRL, while my thumb is resting on the V and space, i use V heavily for sliding. Back in the days i did use my pinkie for sliding, but ended up slaughtering my hand.

I actually place my pinkie on Shift, thumb on space bar, and index, middle and ring finger on W-A-D shifting fingers or pressing down my pinkie on both keys whenever I require additional keys.

You only really need W to move forward so place your Middle on W index on D drop your pinky on ctrl and ring finger on shift, and you can bring them back up when you need to
