FINAL FANTASY® XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition NA

Thinking about playing...
I think that this might be the mmo for me. I am looking for a non quest based mmo. I really don't like to go from quest giver to quest giver over and over. I like to just go where I want and fight monsters. Is this a good game for that?
The thing that really makes me interested in this game is the class system and multi class system. There seems to be a nice variety of classes. I was thinking about playing this and was just wandering if it still worth it to try. I tried final fantasy 14 so far it is okay but the classes don't seem to interesting.

Don't. Nobody plays this game anymore save for those that are already at high to max level. The system punishes you for dying (XP loss, can even level down). The combat is extremely slow-paced. Most of the content requires you to have a party, in which case you won't have because the only people who play are of high to max level.

What will happen to you if you buy this game is that you'll maybe solo level 1-10, and then die at level 10, go back a level, level up back to 10, die again, rince and repeat.

Well I know that the combat is slow pace, kind of like Final Fantasy games. I will mostly be playing with someone anyway, maybe 2 other people. Not being able to find a group does seem a little sad. I am looking for a game with a little challenge and not based around soloing the entire game. From my experience playing an mmo like rift/wow is very very easy with two people since the content is based around soloing.

Wtf are you talking about? The game isn't bad at all and you make it seem like its just this rince and repeat strat when its more than that. There are different ways that you can play this game, you can play it however you want to. Sure the game is old but there are still a few populated servers if he looked on the forum or site and seen which are populated. And the combat system isnt for everyone, so what, everything can't be like Wow or other mmos.

Bro, I think that you should give the game a try at best. I played it for a while on the xbox 360 with a friend and it was amazing. If you dont want to do quest you can always just explore like me and a friend did and kill things. If you want to level up quick im sure theres a linkshell or exp party that would be happy to take you to higher content to level you up if you want. Either way you can play how you want. If you really want to get into the game check out this site http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/ you can find out which servers are populated and a nice link shell to join. The combat is like ff12 if youve ever played it, I love the way the combat is in this game tbh.

And I really like the class system in this game as well, samurai, ninja, pup master, thats why I always favored this game over 14 because of the extensive class system

I started playing. I am liking it so far. Just a level 9 red mage so far. The classes seem very interesting especially the blue mage. Final Fantasy 14 on the other hand seems like a much worse class system and no exciting "Jobs". I actually am on the Odin server. Hope there are some people.

That sounds great and yeah, blue mage is one of my fav jobs just bc of how they learn their skills. I think that you would like it a lot.

Tinynoremac. I am not sure if you are interested in doing low level content though. Hopefully I will see you in game sometime. Still learning.

Actually, I am a semi new player and the combat is not as bad as this guy makes it out ot be, nor is leveling... the only thing about leveling is it is tedious... you have to level 2 jobs almost simultaneously...... and there are quite a few players last I checked that while max level, they have jobs that are still level 1 that they can run with you.... like my friend who got me playing... her primary jobs are all max level, but she levels her beastmaster job with me...

get ff 14. much better game
Jbeavis100 Dec 4, 2013 @ 10:23pm
Well, I only started beginning of november so most of my jobs are low level content! :D
Magicjoe Dec 6, 2013 @ 10:12am
Final Fantasy 14 was okay. The class system is much worse though. 8 classes and 8 jobs. The jobs seem to just be improved versions of the original classes. So really there are 8 (generic in my opion) classes. In Final fantasy 11 there are 24 classes that can have half of the abilities of another job. Some are very unique. Blue mage for example is the most unique class I saw in any game. Final fantasy 14 is lacking in this department. To me that is one of the most important parts of an mmo (having a lot of fun ways to play your character or characters).
