There is no 'meh' vote option so I'm not recommending it. I was disappointed when they chose turn based, but not put off completely and still played it.
Slow, glacially slow. Every fight takes forever, the long drawn out nature of pretty much every action makes a very short game into a long one.
The actual amount of content is very small for an RPG. It takes a good while to finish because everything is so slow. I would quite often save and quit after a few fights thinking, I really can't be bothered.
Lack of UI polish. Absolute bare minimum of assistance given to you to set things up. Constant little ♥♥♥♥les of 'why do I have to do that, a simple menu option would have been so easy.
Targetting is appalling, utterly awful. Quite frequently just as you click on a target it will move and you click the ground instead, and your character will waste precious turns running around often getting whacked with attacks of opportunity.
Awful party organisation. The drag and drop idea is dreadful. Just make some standard hotkeys please. In general the options for hotkeys are quite limited.
Very average story and plot. The voice acting is equally average. Given the slow pace of the game, you would think they had spent more time coming up with an few ideas of their own instead of adopting every RPG cliche. Overall, outside the environmental mechanics, not much imagination used.
Buffs and Potions, tiny durations makes them pretty much redundant.
The environmental effects can be fun, throwing barrels of oil at people is midly diverting for a few combats. But the grinding slowness of fights kinda of deflates the fun.
Looks ok! Some of the environments look great, but it's all generic stuff. Here's a fiery lava place, here's an icy mountain place (wot no dwarves?!!!)
Overall I think this game is over-rated. If you love slow turn based games this is probably a good choice for you, if you haven't played Torment, go play that. It's better.
