War for the Overworld
Games wont start on Linux
Today I got my update on gmail, and once discovered that the linux support was added I immediately went to download the game.
Unfortunately once downloaded, nothing happens. I click on play but nothing happens.
Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you

You've done nothing wrong. Basically, because they didn't sort out all platforms together, they are now finding out that every OS except Windows uses case-sensitive file names. This is why I cringed when they said they would sort out other platforms later.

If you rename WFTO_Data to Data and UIResources to uiresources, it will load but won't really be playable.

Still, it's nice to finally be able to play in GNU/Linux.

Thank you very much.
I am guessing that this is because of the alpha state of the game...but at least at the moment dungeon keeper seems much better (even graphically which is a bit disturbing). I hope in some concrete graphic improvements.
Kinda embarassing to publish a linux version without testing it first. Oh well.

This works, thank you.
Actually, a better solution is to symlink Data -> WFTO_Data. so that when Steam updates it, it continues to work.

And it actually works okay. I was able to play a whole game last night.

If you delete the game and reload it will fix the case sensitivity problem, it's actually an issue with Steam not properly renaming folders when they change case.
