Just a warning: Please read the entire review before ranting about how I hate a great game, as I explain that a bit more at the end of the review. Thanks!
DDOS Loadup Simulator.
Jokes aside, it does load up really slowly, and if you're on a newer computer, then it might not load fully because of how old the loading process is. I was luckily able to get into the game one time before writing this, and I was able to get a peek at the game's controls. In short, they're really bad. But in detail, you can't jump, right click is use, you can't look up or down and not only does WASD move you around, but the mouse does too, which makes it really awkward to move around, as the A and D keys only move you left and right, while moving the mouse left and right turns your character left or right, which, unless you have a very steady hand, you'll end up moving forward or backward and it just ends up better to use the mouse only, but then you have to get out of the state of mind to use the WASD keys, which is implemented in alot of other games. Back to the whole "Newer computer" thing, I'm not sure if this is only with my computer, but when I completed the first level, which is really confusing until you find out what button is 'Use', by the way, the game uses gunshot-esque sounds when the game counts your score, like how many enemies were left in the level, how many pickups you actually picked up, etc. That would be fine, but there's a glitch where the sounds will keep playing into the next level. Finally, I quit after that glitch as I didn't want to be annoyed, and on the way out, I noticed that the game self-compliments itself. Word-by-word, here's what it said: "Are you sure you want to quit this great game?"
I understand that this is a great game in alot of peoples minds, and I know that quite a few people (Or a few of the few people who see and actually read this review, anyways) are going to disagree with me, and that's fine. I didn't have DOOM in my past, so by now, I already know the games that I like and don't like, and unless I really try, I'm not going to get into other series. I don't really feel like trying to play a game that'll barely work on my computer so that I change my mind and say that it's one of the best games ever in my opinion.
-Unnessesary Double-Movement Controls (WASD and Mouse)
-Glitched Results Screen
-Self-Compliment (Personally not a fan :/)
Okay, I'm done here. If you've read this far, thanks for taking time out of your day to read this review and I hope that you didn't take too much offense if you are a supporter of the DOOM series. Thanks for reading and (Hopefully) understanding why I don't recommend DOOM II.
