Who uses the dosbox version though?...source ports enable SO much more.

Try this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dooms-19-winx64/
It's the Shareware version, legal to re-distribute, and costs nothing.

I've set it up for Windows x64, but it has not undergone Windows 8.0 or 8.1 testing yet (I do have them, just not quite there yet).

It requies .NET 3.0 and Windows x64, so if you're running a 64-bit version of Windows 8.x then it *should* work.


If the above works, you can get the Steam version, and just copy the IWAD into the folder. (There is a button in the app to open the folder too) :-)
