How do i play with other online players
Ilove the story and a freind told me to play the insanely fun multi player but i need help

There are 3 source ports. zdaemon, odamex, and zandronum. Get internet doom explorer and download all 3!

Try Zandronum. It's bundled with the Doomseeker server browser (officially replaced the Internet Doom Explorer).
