Steam name integration with non-steam game.

Is it possible to have a non-steam game use your steam name should you decide to play that game using steam, like a variable which is set by steam when you log on for your games to read?

just go right click,properties on the nonsteam game,and change the name to whatever you want
it won't record playtime or anything

Not the name of the shortcut, silly! Your player name in the game. Games which allow you to change that on the fly still exist, you know!

I doubt it, but it would be a useful variable for Steam to be able to pass to non-Steam games.
