Need a little help over here?

Hello! I just had got the whole DOOM collection during the sale today. And I ran into a few problems. I started out with DOOM 1. It didn't work out that well due to the dos box but I got it working. But my problemis with DOOM 2. Yes I've tried switching out the DOS boxes. Which I still have the newest version on it now. And yes I have also tried that method of editing the CFG files for certain things to be false and true. And when trying those ideas and starting my game an odd thing happens. My monitor shuts off and it says check video cable (Might just be my monitor) but the monitor is fine and everything is plugged in. When I turn the screen back on it says DOS box has stopped working. Does anyone know how to fix this please?

Copy DOOM2.WAD to the PrBoom folder afterwards.
Rename DOOM1.WAD to DOOM1.WAD.REN if you do.

It'll load using a Source Port known as PrBoom, which supports higher resolutions and OpenGL 3D.
