Controls/Mouse
Hi everbody, just installed the Doom Classic Pack, with Doom II, Final Doom etc... I was not aware that all the games are the original old ones, running in a DOS emulator. Therefore I may guess that the mouse for controlling is not working? If I pause the game it says under "options" "mouse sensitivity" but whatever I do, my mouse does not work... any ideas? [btw: afaik I played Doom back in the 90s also with the keyboard only, but that is long ago.]

Use a source port such as GZDoom or Zandronum, they make the games run much better on new computers. DOSBox DOOM is balls.

I would if I would know how... How can I use a "source port" with a steam purchased game? Any resources? And thank you for the hint :)

EDIT: Just installes GZDoom, the program found the wasd files automaticly.. So easy, so perfect! Thanks again for your answer, improved my Doom experience a lot! :]

Dude, thanks for mentioning this!! I wish I had known about Zandronum before I had beaten Doom I and II already. I couldn't stand that move-forward control from using the mouse, so I used some user-altered from forums to play those two. Zandronum makes it sooooo much better all around.

Well to use a source port like ZDoom[zdoom.org] for example, you only need the original WAD's. Those are mostly located in the "base" folder of all the Doom games. In the case for Final Doom you have to locate the folder (steam/steamapps/common/Final Doom) and Drag&Drop either "PLUTONIA.wad" or "TNT.wad" on the ZDoom icon. Zdoom remembers the locations then and you don't have to do that every time.
