CD key has already been used?

I installed this game on another computer a long time ago, and now that i reinstalled it here, it says its already in use. I tried entering my cd key again from steam and it didn't work. I also am on the same account.

Please do not create a new Maniaplanet account, instead use the existing account!
With Steam, the key is always registered automatically to the first Maniaplanet account which is used here.

Hopefully you remember the login, then you can either try to connect on the Maniaplanet player page in case you only forgot the password (http://player.maniaplanet.com). Or if you had added your email address, you coud ask the Ubi support to tell you the login.

I am on the exact same account it was originally added to, and had no problem logging in. It just says the CD key was already used whenever I log in

Propably Steam tries to register the key again and again.
Is it only a message popup when you start the game, but otherwise it's working fine? Then ignore it although it is annoying.
Otherwise, you can either contact Ubisoft support so they check if your account has an issue.

It sounds like this is a common issue, yet there doesn't seem to be a clear answer anywhere. Is there any work to fix this bug currently?

There is not any work currently, as far as I know. Nadeo is working only on the release of Trackmania Turbo at the moment.

For some poeple, a reinstallation helped.
Also make sure that you don't mix up with the standalone client, if you already have installed it.
Because by default, it uses the same folder (in own documents, Maniaplanet).

On the other hand, if the key is already registered, you can uninstall the version from Steam and install the standalone client and use the existing account there.

Because you cannot use multititle servers (interleaving maps from Canyon, Stadium and Valley) with the Steam version.
