About the spelling and grammer: don't judge too harshly, I took a little artistic license ;)
Peace.
The level of disappointment I feel knowing that I can't reliably (nor have I had a single successful attempt) connect to my friends for whom I purchased the game so we could coop together is pretty vast.
That said, I have to say that the disappointment does not outweigh my OVERALL satisfaction with the game. The fact that, despite not being able to do the very thing that persuaded my purchase , I am still able to find some enjoyment in the game is a testament to it. Having all four turtles present regardless of my friends' participation was a pretty helpful reminder that even though a core feature is broken, there's still a good time to be had!
Watching the RedFly dev videos and interviews with various websites, I find it hard to believe that a game they'd be so passionate about promoting would ultimately slip between the cracks. It's taken a while, and we DID get one patch that, as far as I can tell, didn't alleviate any issues. I don't know where to place fault/blame, because the poor support and availability of genuine dialogue post-launch have brought enough ambiguity to the situation that it's tough to tell if fault lies with the developers, the publisher, a combination, or some other option I'm unaware of. But ultimately placing blame, pointing fingers, and calling our fellow gamers names isn't going to solve the problem. Channeling that energy(and obviously I'm talking about myself, too!) into continuing to report these issues to the telephone number that's been posted a few times on these forums, the facebook page, and activision's own support page would be a more constructive outlet.
I'm hopeful for a fix, if in part due to the energy and what I still assume was fanboyish passion for the Turtles that I feel like I saw in the developer interviews. Given that the game runs on the Unreal Engine 3, there's even some liklihood that some fans will find a suitable solution, even though it shouldn't fall to the fans to do so.
And TC, thank you for this post. It is SUPER tough to be optimistic, but I'd like to think that if I were a developer, it's posts like yours that would catch my eye. The waters ARE certainly muddied between wanting to support an intellectual property that I've loved my whole life and wanting to withhold future patronage to ensure I don't end up in a similar situation in the future.
