CANNOT INVITE FRIENDS TO CUSTOM/PRIVATE GAMES
The ability to invite my friends to a custom or private game lobby/game needs to be fixed yesterday. This fix needs to be top priority. I bought this game specifically to play through co-op, and I will not play through it until we can play through for the first time together. I am so disappointed.

THERE IS A SUPPORT PAGE FROM ACTIVISION WHERE IT IS ALREADY SAID THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WHICH ARE GOING TO BE FIXED!

Just for you to know...
Space Herb Aug 31, 2013 @ 1:51pm
Thanks, DoggieSmile, for your helpful contribution.

Here is the link to that support page you mentioned, or at least its the closest topic to what we're all experiencing with the COOP and wanting to PLAY WITH OUR FRIENDS.

Cannot Join a Private Match
http://support.activision.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Cannot-Join-a-Private-Match/?l=en_US&c=Game_Title%3ATMNT_Out_of_the_Shadows&fs=Search&pn=1

There is also a support page about not being able to play online with friends. It explains that all you have to do is invite them to a private game. Well, guess what. That doesn't work.
Here is the link to that unhelpful page:

Cannot Start Online Game with Friends

THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE RELEASED A COOP GAME WITHOUT WORKING COOP. CATASTROPHE AT TAKE OFF. FAILURE TO LAUNCH.

Anyway, ranting about the $30 dollars I spent on this for my wife and me aside, this post is to document all of the additional posts about this same issue, and hopefully we can get some more helpful information/links in this thread.

This needs to be a sticky. Does anyone here even have the power to do that?
Space Herb Aug 31, 2013 @ 3:44pm
I know it's the weekend, but I wonder how long it will be until the devs fix COOP. Otherwise, Valve/Steam should remove the "COOP Designiation" from the game's information page. It sure isn't a COOP game that can be played with FRIENDS - at least not yet.

bump this is ridiculous releasing a game with a bug like this.

Activision. That should explain the majority of the why. As for the how. Let me sum that up with another tidbit of information. Activision.

They love cash. They don't give a flying fark about what we think as long as we paid the cash to think it.

Granted I agree completely. Why release an obviously unfinished port? I figure they used university co-op interns to make the port. Look at the Donnie's arcade. That is obviously supposed to be multiplayer. On a console you could just play with the guy sitting next to you using a controller. But on PC? How the hell do you get an online person to join that one? There isn't even an g damn option.

Foreward thinking seems to fly out the window once companies such as Activision make their first million.

The only problem with multiplayer is there wasn't a proper link between steams join game function and inviting friends. The arcade is meant to be played local 4 player coop.
Five7 Sep 1, 2013 @ 1:01am
for the consoles yes, local.

On PC when you make a port, you obviously would PORT it to be more than just local. It is obviously functionality that many other ports have been intelligent enough to add. Everyone is aware what the problem is; the missing connectivity between steam accounts.

There is no need to state that and treat it like it is some kind of defense.

The point is: it is a problem that should not have existed at release.

Any intelligent company would know this. Your input is redundant.

Look at the character select screen. Notice how low key it is? This is veyr much an indicator of what kind of budget this game had, and I can clearly tell you the budget was NOT very high.

Taking this into account you can see that much of the development went into the combat mechanics of the game the animations, the models, the weapons and the enviornments. I am 100% certain that time constraints as well as money constraints are a leading factor of WHY this game is missing a online arcade mode.

This is the EPITOME of a $15 title, and I'm almost certain this game was made to test the waters and see if the idea had potential. If this game succeeds we will probably see a $60 version of this game as a sequel that will have all the bells and whistles you wish for.

If you EVER want to see another Ninja Turtles game with these fighting mechanics you (and everyone else) will lay of this game and pray to god it is succesfull so we can hope to see a better version in the future.
Five7 Sep 1, 2013 @ 1:15am
Test the waters? It was built on the Unreal engine. Waters? Tested.
Granted what you are saying has merit. And I somewhat agree. The fact remains that a fiscally financial powerhouse; activision, has released it. Regardless of price, the funding is present.

What remains is that the majority of people who purchase this game will be people who enjoyed the original TMNT titles and their multiplayer potentials.

It is still shameful to release such an unfinished port. I understand that the issues will likely be resolved; and in a reasonably timely manner. It still doesn't take away from the fact that they are problems that should not have existed upon a release. Port or no port.
Five7 Sep 1, 2013 @ 1:18am
And just to clarify. Port does not imply it was released for a platform and then ported to another. It can also imply that it was originally DEGISNED for a platform and then translated to others. ie: Skyrim.
Sader Sep 1, 2013 @ 1:25am
The money activision has != to the money it's willing to RISK on a game that is... Let's face it, not a first person shooter. Activision did not give these guys a blank cheque.

Also when I said "test the waters" what makes you think I was talking about the engine? I'm talking about the game itself as a whole. This game is a complete mash up of ideas. Everything from the weapon "crafting" to the leveling system to the MULTIPLE MULTIPLE different modes is literally a bunch of testing grounds for how they could move forward for the next game.

There is potential to expand upon every facet of this game and I can tell you the developers (assuming they are financially succesfull) will be paying close attention to the metrics of whose playing what and what is popular within the game and what is not.

This game is a glorified tech demo as far as Im concerned filled with ideas. Which is why it's not a $60 title.

Demonizing this game will do nothing but make it so this genre ( 4 man brawler, beat em up) will once again die and we can go back to the "Spunkgargleweewee" that we're used to.
Space Herb Sep 1, 2013 @ 8:25am
The intent of this thread is not to demonize this game. That is a really weird and ridiculous thing to say, in my opinion. People paid for a product, and now they are leaving feedback about it. People are at different levels of maturity and express their reactions in different ways. Sometimes it's more emotional. Sometimes it's more logical. This is natural.

This thread is addressing a specific bug that is RUINING this "COOP BY DESIGN" game by prohibiting us from playing it with our friends. Here, I have collected testimony and have tried to provide a constructive forum for others that might also be frustrated by the fact that they CANNOT PLAY THIS SUPPOSEDLY COOP GAME WITH FRIENDS. I can see that this game will be absolutely fantastic once it actually works for us AS IT WAS ADVERTISED WHEN I SPENT $30 ON TWO COPIES FOR COOP. My wife and I paid for this game specifically for the advertised COOP, and we have essentially been robbed since launch. We will not play through the novel experience without each other. Sorry if you can't or don't want to understand that.

This game is great, and whether or not it succeeds to turn a profit for the publishers and devs, the ideas and mechanics within it will no doubt spread to other dev teams and projects. So, I don't think you have to worry about companies doing new and exciting things to entice new players. I just hope new releases don't continue to advertise certain features and then immeditately fail to deliver them, leaving the consumer feeling absolutely robbed.

Speaking of intent of this thread let's not get off topic.

We are posting here to create a following to provide enough evidence that this should be fixed by developers. To be honest, I really don't care what any of your theories are; I only want the game to be fixed as quickly as possible.

If anybody else is having a problem logging into coop, or in turn has a solution, please post it here : )
