Turn on Vsync and turn off AA. I dont know why this works, but my guess is that the game freaks out if it its frame rate goes to fast. Dont know why AA is a problem too, I guess its drawing stuff thats not even in the map?

tnx.

But it didn't help.
This is annoying since even in the game it happens.

You have a funky way of asking for help, for example, if I say:

I have a GFX card that can run sleeping dogs at ultra + using the HD textures pack, with no problem, yet it freezes in this game.

What kind of help could you give me??

See what I mean??

Be more descriptive, it sure sounds like if you are forcing settings through the card control panel, but from what I've seen on this forums, more than half of the problems with this game spring from using windows 8.

Sorry man, your computer totally murders mine running windows 7 but I have no lag problems in the menu, plus nearly all the complaints about bugs are from people running windows 8.

It was a honest suggestion and I hope you can find a solution.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I have an i5 2500k, 560ti, and 8 GB of ram. I run crysis at 60 FPS but even with AA and vsync off I get like 12 FPS in this game for what feels like no reason. I have tried a lot of things with the nvidia control panel and playing with the resolution but nothing seems to help.

I want to play this game but I have no idea why I'm getting such awful performance. I'm running W7 64-bit.

Do you dual boot? Even if you got the "upgrade", you could still partition your HDD and run W7, and W8 on the same PC. As such, you could still run your old stuff which may, or may not be compatible. Heck, I've still got an old copy of XP 64-bit I use now and then.

Over the years I've always dual booted when upgrading to a new OS. It was especially useful when Vista came along...

Crapper no, i do not Dual Boot since i don't have another windows to run.

Today, I have pretty much the same problem, although mine is not about the frames, i have great frames, my problem is that the game freezes, and then returns and again freezes as if you would pause a movie all the time.

While unpaused the frames are fine.
