ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON Enhanced Edition

Does anyone love their purchase of this game?
I am seeing a lot of negativity towards this game by those who recently purchased is. Is there anyone who has no problem with the game and is actually enjoying it? I am very much into flight sim games (huge fan of all decent series) so how does this one compare?

Is it an actual simulation or is it an arcade game?

Thanks for the imput.

arcade game.i brought retail half year ago and have only 5 hours of single player.but will definetly play hard with classic controls from scratch again.(actual controls are realy easy, arcade) on normal is far too easy .you can eve survive crash to ground and you plane autorepair fast.but its good game reminds me arcade machines somehow.i brought it for 25e .dont regret it

Just got it yesterday and played 2 hrs.
It's very arcade like but it's fun. Feels like the Dog Fights from the movie Top Gun.
Haven't played MP / Co-Op yet but looking forward to it.

I definetly do not regret purchasing this game. It's not without flaws, but it's a really awesome game.

If you enjoy arcade fighter games, and epic and intense dogfights, you won't regret buying it too.

Ive purchased it on the xbox back then (thus im not buying it on pc unless it drops below 10€) and i had a very good time. But i also had a good time with HAWX 2 and even more with HAWX 1. Since i did not play the old AC's it seems to me that all the bad text it just comming from fanboy hate. It has its flaws but if you take it for what it is and not for what it can or could be its very much fun and i do not even regret buying it on console!

I like it but the controls suck! How can i change them? Anytime i click the button to change it says button is already bound and i cant complete the actions!

you have to unbind the control first if its already bound

I am very happy with my purchase., for 15 dollars I am def getting my moneys worth. One thing to note though is that I am not your usual flight sim player so my opinion of this game is not based upon me playing otehr flightsims. I do however play with the real controls and not the arcadey controls because I think that takes all the fun out of the game

I'm extremely unhappy with this purchase, to put it mildly. This is an interactive movie, press X to fire. You don't even have to control the plane.

Granted, I have only played it for 20 minutes, and I have not played the series before. But I do occationally play other flight sims (not arcades), notably DCS series, and I knew this was way different. I really thought this could be a cool arcade action game. It is not!

Also, clumsy control assignments. With a joystick with lots of buttons, some buttons are bound to be bound to something else than you try to bind it to, but of course it doesn't tell you WHAT it is bound to, nor does it unbind it automatically first. You have to do that yourself.

Too bad I didn't read up on the reviews here before, but that's my fault.

You saw the "Press X to Fire" message because the 1st mission also happens to be a tutorial.

Play the game a bit more (20 minutes is just too short). That's my advice.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations and concerns. I belive I will be picking up the game because I do enjoy a good action game so even if the controls are not perfect I believe for 15 bucks I can get my moneys worth.

Agreed... I love DCS .. this is not DCS and not meant to be.. this is like Battlefield3 or CoD compared to Arma 3.. You play it for fast paced FUN... and until you get into it more than the first mission..you miss much of the fun... attention spans need to be stretched..you can't put it on autopilot and go get your coffee as in DCS..

Well, i already have this for PS3, and am debating if improved resolution is worth 15€. On PS3 it was fun enough, even if very different from the old Ace Combats.

And real world setting still sucks, no change of fighting giant submarines or flying aircraft carriers or spaceships or giant laser cannons or asteroid bombardment facilites here :p

I really, really hate it with a passion.

Bought it to have some mindless fun, spent 2 hours fixing multiple install errors with GFWL. If I'm looking for that kind of experience, I can strip naked and go and run in the bushes of stinging nettles that are growing abundantly in the wet spring we're having over here. Same level of fun but at least I won't be charged 15 euro for the privilege.

Now it sits on top of my alphabetic steam games list, mocking me with its obnoxious name in ALL CAPS(TM).
