Ace Combat Assault Horizon enhanced Edition title Update - Game for Windows Live functionalities replaced by Steamworks funtionalities.
Dear Ace combat fans,
you can now update your Ace Combat Assault Horizon Enhanced Edition for PC game to replace the Games for Windows Live functionalities with Steamworks functionalities.
The update is available from today – February 24th and will let you keep both your saves and achievements.
Please visit http://steamcommunity.com/app/228400/discussions/ to read the update process.

If you played or are currently playing Ace Combat Assault Horizon, you will be able to update and keep your achievements and saves between February 24th and April 1st.
From April 1st, the new version using Steamworks functionalities will become the default version of the game.

Please read the process below to update your game properly.
Please note that after April 1st, we won’t be able to guarantee your save files and achievements will be properly transferred.

CASE 1: You already purchased Ace Combat Assault Horizon Enhanced Edition prior to February 24th. Process below is valid until April 1st

You purchased a Game for Windows live version from a retailer (Disc) or Game for windows live marketplace (Digital)
1) We recommend that you add it to you Steam account using your serial
2) Launch the game and connect to Game for Windows Live. You will be asked to update the game (Title Update). Accept the update request.
3) Run the game, only currently signed user progress can be transferred to Steam.
4) Close the Game for windows live
5) Once the game is patched, click right on your game in the Steam library, go into properties, check that the BETAS tab is set to “Acah-2.0-“
6) Launch Ace Combat Assault Horizon EE v2.0 from Steam
7) The game will look for previous saves (and will only access them if you have updated through GfWL first). If saves and achievements are detected in your computer, it will ask to import them, click yes, and you are ready to go.

Read: You purchased a Game for Windows live version from Steam in the OPs post.

Unless... you don't care about save files, then simply go with CASE 2: You purchase Ace Combat Assault Horizon Enhanced Edition between February 24th and April 1st

So... I have it already so the switch for the Steamwork cannot be done?

Hi,
If you have a GFWL version, you just need to log on to GFWL servers to do the update, once it is done (game update + Achievement/save compatibility update) switch to Steam according to the procedure in the sticky post.

What?! No, you have a version that is using GFWL with an overlay from Steam by default. Just launch Ace Combat Assault Horizon the way it is to make sure, it's using the newest version of GFWL (probably is, if you were running it in the last few weeks). After you do that, you do a switch to Steamworks:
- You go to your Steam library (the places, from where you can download any game, you've purchased - not the website).
- You right click on ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON Enhanced Edition and choose Properties.
- You go to a Betas tab.
- You choose Acah-2.0 - NO-GFWL.
- Click close. Wait for the update to download.
- Then you launch the game and import saves from GFWL.

That's it - it's easy.

Ok so what does this update mean? You still cant buy the damm game! Ive been waiting for this issue to be resolved for months now! It just says we are having issues with the keys, there is no option to purchase the game. Is this gonna be fixed or what?

It means, that with this update the game is no longer using GFWL for its achievements, for multiplayer etc. And since it's Steam - it also means, CD Key and any additional registration is not required (unless you register a retail version on Steam). It's only my assumption, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to buy the game again from April 1st, 2014 when the current "beta update", is going to be applied permanently to every Steam copy of the game.

Hello! We are looking to bring back the game as soon as possible. We will keep on monitoring the title update for a few day again and if everything runs fine, we will work on bringing back the Ace Combat Assault Horizon Enhanced Edition, with Steamworks functionalities on the Steam Store.

Here are a few things I've noticed so far:
- The Voice Chat is permanently on. Push-to-Talk is an important feature that I strongly recommend to implement. Otherwise the Multiplayer will mostly consist of background noises.
- When in a lobby, a button reads 'Show Gamer Card' instead of something like 'Show Steam profile'.
- A text chat would be great too

Agree. Adding Push-to-Talk and furthermore making it a default setting is something, I'd like to see very much.

GFWL is removed, but the game is still not available in my region and I can't purchase it. Are there plans to remove the restriction?
