Go to the website, if you still have trouble ask the devs, it's not difficult.

Through a combination of sidescrolling "metroidvania" platforming and strategic use of survivors and materials on an isometric turn based overland map, your goal is to defeat the atogonist, an overlord who is at the start of the game invulnerable but by managing your people, resources and taking care of where you personally attack (everytime you complete a sidescrolling area counts as one turn, which must be followed by a decision on the isometric map, which must be followed by a sidescrolling area etc) you can build up your strength enough to take hime down which is the end goal. Whilst you are attacking area's and sending your people to build homes and gather resource's etc the overlord also gets to take turns attempting to kill your people and destroy your buildings. If you allow all your followers to die you lose. That is the basic summery of the game.
btw mentally slow people are not violent animals incapable of friendly conversation, thats a sad misconseption which harms many gentle yet slow individuals who have never harmed anyone

I havent played the last few versions so I cannot accuratly give my oppinion of that, there is a demo however if you are interested which should allow you to decide wether or not you find it fun without costing you a penny, if you are so inclined.

How would I know? I dont know you. Its not a full on strategy game like Civilisation and most of the time you are in the platforming sections, the only way for you to tell would be to try it, asking the same question repeatedly in a slightly different way isnt going to provide you with a useable responce.

This is the most random forum topic I've seen in a long time..... At any rate, this game is a roguelike type of action platformer if that makes any sense. It blends rpg, 2d shooter, and strategy elements. The levels are highly randomized using procedural design. The plot seems equally....procedural.

so potatoe if you dont know the first game you might enjoy it, but as person who loved the first game i can tell you this one is really bad, not becasue of the gameplay, because of its unplayable contols, cause they removed mouse support. just read the other bigh thread here, i can not recommend the game at all in its current state.....

All the story stuff is what's going into the current builds right now. It's been written for a while it's just now making its way in. The focus of the beta up to this point has been on mechanics and bugs.

Why'd they make a sequel? According to reviews the first one was a pile.

There were a number of people who did not like the first one. That said, the sequel is a vastly different game. It's not a sequel in the traditional sense, it's more like a spiritual successor.

A number of people? Are you kidding me, anyone with taste who laid eyes on this heap of crap had to detest it!! It's not entertaining at all, looks like crap and is in no manner motivating.
They shouldn't have made a sequel and moreover not even the first to start with.
