those damn spiders...

I'm on the Landrin's quest to gather some items from his house after killing the spiders inside. But, the spiders keep killing me! I have all my party (Abdel, Imoel, Khalid) at level 1, and Jahera at level 2. Any suggestions?

lure them out, have your party stand a fair distance away and fight them one at a time, it may take some time but it is the easiest way, or you can try to find a potion of fiery burning but that may end up killing your character as well

I try to lure them out, but somehow they always manage to surround me... I can't even take a step outside... :( I set traps and cast the binding spell with Jaheira on the area where I put the traps, but with no good...

If you can cast sleep on all the spiders then just beat them to death.

only need one, take a character and make the spiders follow you out, drink the potion and the spiders will just stand there, then having the party a fair bit away take one character and lure the spiders one by one, you will have to be careful doing this to make sure you dont get all of them chasing him, and you can buy the potion of invis once you get to the city.

The usual way is to go to a temple - there's one right to the east of Beregost - buy antidote potions and swig them when poisoned. Three should do it. If you'd had 18 Charisma Landerin would have supplied you with six when giving the quest.

If your party leader has high enough charisma she will actually give them antidote potions when you first get the quest.

However this is obviously not an option in your situation. Also since you have no mage using sleep is not an option.

I would leave the quest for now until you are higher level or until you have better equipment on your characters. Jaheira at Druid level 3 gains access to a spell called "Slow Poison", which cancels any poison in the game.

Alternatively you could get Ajantis and try it with him. He is a Paladin located in the map just north of the Friendly Arm Inn map (he is along the road on the southern side of the map). His proficiencies are a little out of wack (he uses ba.stard swords) but if nothing else he will be an extra melee character for your group. If you do get Ajantis it may be possible to use Imoen to break into the Beregost smithy at night time and steal a ba.stard sword +1 for him to use. That will make it more likely he will hit anything.

Sorry internet connection is crap at the moment. For the record he actually does have a Ba.stard sword on him so its not that big of a deal that you sold them. Hobgoblins drop them also.

Also I believe Ajantis will be level 2 if you do decide to get him.

I did it buy luring them out as others have suggested.. I put myself, Imoen, and Jaheira Just off the fence on the road, all with ranged weapons.. I put Kalid at the door. I Then had Jaheira cast her bless spell on the ground at the door.. When it was cast I sent Kalid in. Auto pause on enemy sighting is on.. Once indoor screen came up game paused. Important to use spacebar here.. I then gave Kalid the order to run out and was ready to click on the road once the outdoor screen came up.. Worked like a charm. Two Spiders came out and Kalid was able to make it to the road.. The two spiders fell quik to the bow attacks from myself and Imoen. Jaheira was also working it with her sling.. Sent Kalid back in, rinse repeat.. No one was hurt and a short time later, 4 dead spiders..

I should note that spiders are my racial as well..

Don't forget to have game auto pause upon seeing enemy. If you're getting surrounded by them, it means you're not pausing. If you auto pause on enemy sighted...then click the exit when leaving house...pause immediately then click to the location just left of door to kind of create a choke point...you should easily keep the spiders clumped together and not able to leave the fencing...at the same time, you'll only face 1 or 2 at a time...so won't have 4 spiders pounding you.

If you till are having trouble after all this...EZ Mode win would be to go back and grab XZAR and MONTARON. Get the sleep spell, do the same as above, except, this time, when you pause to choose the location for your tank to run to for the choke point...also have Xzar cast a sleep spell there...by the time he finishes casting he should cast it as your spiders get near your tank...and they should all fall down...or only leave one or two up...which focus them down quick and ez mode victory.
