I used many swords, magic.. Magic damage weapons..... everything..
Just now I stunned him with a wand (dont remember the name) and started hitting him with everything I got.. But I couldnt get further than 'barely injured'..
Now, I read he regenerates health, and it seems to happen way too fast, becouse I just CANT get him Injured past slightly..
I also read you can only hit him with +3 weapons, which I somehow dont have.. (only +2's..)
I think Ive tried everything by now..
Might it be possible to leave the island without comleting this quest??
The other Wolves were pretty easy, but as soon mr Karoug is left, I can take however long I want, but I CANT get him down...
And off course, I saved when arriving on the island.....
The Sword of Balduraan is a chest in the same room as Karoug. I used it along with haste and mages casting spells to take him down. It took a could reloads, but it is entirely possible.
The Burning Earth (AKA Flame Tongue), which is found at the bottom floor of Durlag's Tower
Werebane +4 which is found on Balduran's ship just before Karoug
and Balduran's Sword which is in either the chest or the desk behind Karoug himself.
Unfortunately those weapons are longswords, daggers, and b@stard swords respectively. If you've got anyone who's capable of using them, equip those and haste those people. For everything else, you're going to have to use magic to kill him.
A good strategy I use is to cast Greater Malison + Doom together at him to lower Karoug's saving throws, then use a Wand of Paralysis on him. With the spells and wands put together, he'll have a +9 penalty on his saving throws and when he's stunned, attacks from those 3 weapons will automatically hit.
Once he's stunned, I usually have two mages unleash a barrage of magic missiles, clerics using Wands of the Heavens, and anyone else who can't do anything else throwing exploding potions. Pause the game and order all of those things to happen at once and you've got a fried greater wolfwere. Send in the guys with the 3 swords if he happens to survive the assault and continue pounding him with all you've got, making sure that wands and spells and such strike at the same time to counter his massive regeneration rate.
I got Imoen to take the sword of Balduran, gave it to my main character who also used the Dagger (the one that works against wolves) and stunned Karoug..
Then I killed all the others, and made sure Karoug remained stunned.
Then I started hitting him with all I got.. In the end the Sword made the difference :D
@ Hikoh... when I went to talk to the village leader woman, I could say I killed them all.
Strange that you cant.. All I know is that you should talk to the leader woman, not the man..
Good luck!
