Keybindings

In the original game, you could open the config utility and change a number of game settings. I am particularly interested in the ability to set keybinds as for some reason, the F keys aren't working for me. Anyone know how to do this? Also, does anyone know how to set max hp at level? Is a bit of a nuisance having to turn down difficulty every time I level.
